Whys everything so boring

I been trying to find some ideas for teen dd room. But everything seems so boring all I can see is creams or colours that blend into each other. Oh or gaming rooms . Dd has mentioned about 2 different shades of blue . But she's also open. Everything is just creams/whites and depressing

Oh come on. No it isn't. Even basic places like B&Q have bright coloured paint. Go to B&M / Range etc. Somewhere a bit "lower end". The tasteful neutrals are very classy but not what you want. My dds bedroom is cadburys purple 🙄

You have misunderstood me. I don't mean colour in store . I know there's colour in shops etc. I meant when I look for ideas like on Google images etc everything I see is creams and whites

Pinterest is great for this rather than Google! If you know the style you want (cottage core, mid century modern, gothic fairytale etc) and the colour you will find lots of inspiration there.

Do you actually understand how to use Google? I literally typed in 'colourful teen room' and got lots of results.

Or do you need people to spoon feed you absolutely every tiny thing?

Try the search term "Maximalist" or "Moody" or "Jewel tones"

Very in right now like some kind of backlash from the endless grey and monochrome and sad beige.

Tbf, I just did the same and there was still an awful lot of white!

Just look at cars. All white, black, grey or silver. Colour is dead.

Even on that link 80% of the rooms had white walls or a very pale overall scandi type look!

White with accent colours is very current as well. I much prefer the maximalist/moody stuff.

I think google images is a bit shit for this kind of thing too. Try pinterest, or instagram. Get her to make you a pinterest board for inspiration.

Or, if she knows two colours she likes, try typing those colour names in and see what comes up.

You can do giant images of beaches and various sceneries via Amazon

Try hashtagging teenbedroom into Instagram or tiktok. There’ll be all types of decor on there. Urban outfitters do nice teen girl decor.

Don’t search for teen just search blue bedroom etc. lots of lovely ideas.

Does she know what kind of style she likes? What is she in to?

What does she want?
We have neutral walls (rented flat - so it's white walls only 😂) but then depending on what my daughter is into we have a variety of quilt covers and cushions that get swapped around. I pretty much leave it to her.
She can't keep it tidy anyway........🙄

What's her aesthetic? Goth? Retro - '80s/'90s/punk? Victorian Gothic (Wednesday Addams)? Barbie?
Pretty/floral? etc.
She's an individual not a generic "teen"
What stuff does she like? How does she dress?
Dont look up "teen bedroom" look for something in her style.

That's what's hard .she's not into anything really . She says she wants her room done. Shows me 2 shades of blue . Then kind of grunts at me.

Show us the 2 shades of blue!
