I been trying to find some ideas for teen dd room. But everything seems so boring all I can see is creams or colours that blend into each other. Oh or gaming rooms . Dd has mentioned about 2 different shades of blue . But she's also open. Everything is just creams/whites and depressing

Absolutely this! You can’t proceed until you know what she actually will like or accept, or you’ll do it and she’ll hate it, but blame you!

She actually communicated. She wants this but she wants each of the 3 sections a different colour. She's thinking about if she wants the the wood bits to actually be wood or if she wants to frog tape it. And remove the tape so them bits end up white.

Might be easier to take her to chose wallpaper. All that above seems like a faff.

The panelling
The taping
The painting
All of it is a faff for someone who can stay on top of house stuff, so I can't imagine what it's like for someone who has a house full of garbage.

The great beige-ification.

Just look at cars. All white, black, grey or silver. Colour is dead.

Agreed but these colours tend to be a standard price. A more colourful car is always a more expensive spec. White seems to be standard. White or pay extra

@Shithole101 I don't think it would be too "faffy". The tape method might be good to try first and if it doesn't quite work then look at ways of attaching panels to the wall.
If you do it the other way around and the panels don't quite go to plan it would be harder to re do.
Good luck. Should look nice

Yeah that's what I think. I don't drive so it's hard . I can't just pop to b&Q and get it home. I have to use buses . I already have the stuff needed so I can get it done . If it looks odd I will look at doing the wood.

I wouldn't bother if she isn't, to be honest. I talked about painting my teen DSs room about a year ago. He couldn't even be bothered flicking through the paint selection pamphlet I got him so his room remains unpainted. She probably won't like it unless she chooses it

OP I remember your last thread about your bedroom, you did an absolutely fantastic job. Were they real panels or did you paint them on? Either way you should have confidence in your own abilities as well as taste.

They were real panels. I don't mind trying doing dds ones . Its just a bit difficult trying to get things home especially long bits of wood ect
