Couldn't see a thread about this yet so hopefully I've not duplicated something!

I'm making crepe style pancakes as have the American style all the time.

savoury with Emmental and pulled ham hock

sweet with vanilla cinnamon cream cheese and mango

Will prob make my fiance some kind of chocolate peanut butter concoction...

Chicken, peppers and cottage cheese.

Sounds grim but I had it in a nice crepe place years ago and it was lush.

I was just about to start a thread - has anybody got a foolproof batter recipe? Mine always turns out shit

aitchteeaitch · 13/02/2024 17:21

We usually have sugar and lemon, with the occasional dollop of maple syrup, but tonight we are breaking with tradition and not having pancakes. We are having cottage pie.

I forgot! Now I've eaten tea and don't want pancakes!

If I did it would be sugar, lemon and currents.

themusingsofaninsomniac · 13/02/2024 17:23

Many lemon and sugar fans.. I may do one of those at the end as a throwback to what my mum always used to make. I think she would be aghast at my topping choices!

Lemon and sugar on PROPER pancakes, not the stodgy American-style ones.

CointreauVersial · 13/02/2024 17:23

Already had ours! DD1 whipped some up for brunch.

I had mixed berries, banana, greek yogurt and a drizzle of maple syrup on mine.

LemonySnickets · 13/02/2024 17:24

Nutella and banana. Or Nutella and marshmallow. Or one of each, not decided yet! 🥞 🍌 🍫

Damnloginpopup · 13/02/2024 17:26

Picture was the breakfast and lunch selection of toppings. Had the lot 😋 butterscotch syrup on banana was actually the best - I'm normally a lemon and sugar aficionado. Breakfast was thin English pancakes, lunch was those and thick American pancakes

For dinner tonight it'll be American pancakes with crispy streaky bacon, banana and maple syrup for the first ones then blueberry (thrown in while cooking) with extra thick double cream and cinnamon sugar.

Love pancakes, rarely eat them as I'm a carb dodger. But it's pancakes day so it's the menu for all meals.

So what are we all having on our pancakes tonight?
AtleastitsnotMonday · 13/02/2024 17:26

I'm making Stilton leeks or beetroot with horseradish for those wanting savoury (that's me!) Sweet wise we have sugar and lemon, Biscof or raspberries and white choc!

Damnloginpopup · 13/02/2024 17:28

Good call on marshmallow and Nutella...I've got marshmallows 😁

avocadotofu · 13/02/2024 17:29

Maple syrup, berries and butter.

newtlover · 13/02/2024 17:29

lemon and sugar of course

all other choices fine but not today

Thislittlekitten · 13/02/2024 17:29

Nutella, syrup, banana and strawberries 🙈

CandyCaneLane0 · 13/02/2024 17:30

Blueberries, banana, strawberries and strawberry syrup😋

Backoro · 13/02/2024 17:30

Just sugar and lemon

Callmecynical · 13/02/2024 17:31

Dad is allergic to eggs so we're having egg-free which are a bit chunkier than I prefer. Toppings - lemon and sugar, Nutella, crème fresh and berries 😋

frozendaisy · 13/02/2024 17:31

Me - lemon & sugar
Teenagers - everything sweet, blueberries, strawberries, maple syrup, melted dark chocolate, squirty cream and anything else they can get their sticky paws on.

FizzyStream · 13/02/2024 17:36

Lemon and sugar.

The kids and DH will have maple syrup heathens

Tarkan · 13/02/2024 17:50

Lemon and sugar on mine.

I'm making both thin pancakes and thick fluffy Scotch pancakes so I bought a variety of toppings for the kids so their choices will be honey, golden syrup, maple syrup, strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, chocolate spread, biscoff spread, mini marshmallows, mini meringues and skooshy cream. Any uneaten Scotch pancakes will be eaten by DH later with butter and jam.
