I’ll go first, I try to get out of the house at least once a day. I know this makes me feel better and gives me perspective. I try to exercise once a week and I know that eating healthy makes me feel good. What do you do for yours?

I watch videos of cats on YouTube

madeinmanc · 12/02/2024 22:20

Exercise most days. No alcohol. No photo based social media, it made me feel so ugly by comparison. I am a plain-looking person and seeing how great everyone looks makes me feel sad about it. Or if it's not the looks, it's the cars, the holidays, the cosy couple photos.

Manyandyoucanwalkover · 12/02/2024 22:22

I go to the park twice a day for a walk with my dog.

NuffSaidSam · 12/02/2024 22:22

Have a day a week where I don't really see anyone or do too much. Reset.

mynameiscalypso · 12/02/2024 22:22

Weekly therapy. And daily meds.

AdoraBell · 12/02/2024 22:22

We go out for coffee almost every day.

Trinity69 · 12/02/2024 22:24

Try to be alone. I used to work p/t and had loads of time to myself. Now I’m F/T and get the drive home alone and no other time. I enjoy a Sunday of cleaning and sorting the kitchen, listening to music of my choosing and singing (not well, but I sing regardless!)

Errolwasahero · 12/02/2024 22:24

I walk my dog; most days I don’t feel up to it, but I always feel better for doing it. And yoga, even if it’s just lying on the mat and stretching a bit.

GettingBetter2024 · 12/02/2024 22:24

Ooh I'd love to go out for coffee daily. I will absolutely put that as a goal for when I retire!

Joining as feeling a bit crap today and thought I might be inspired. :)

Justmuddlingalong · 12/02/2024 22:26

When I'm changing the bed, I give the pillows an extra plumping up by punching fuck out of them.
I find it quite therapeutic.

RoséProsecco · 12/02/2024 22:27

Running 5K a couple of times a week.

1/2 day at weekend for doing sod all.

Seeing friends for a walk a couple of times a week if I can.

Not expecting perfection. Not sweating the small stuff.

(Totally overwhelmed full time NHS single parent)

Allmarbleslost · 12/02/2024 22:31

I try to keep my house clean and tidy. I spend a lot of time in it and it really affects my mood if it's untidy/dirty.

BarelyLiterate · 12/02/2024 22:32

Definitely exercise. Even if it’s only a brisk walk. I never, ever feel worse after getting out into the fresh air, getting my body moving & my cardio system working. I think it’s just a basic natural thing for humans. We evolved to move around, not sit on our arses all day.

ChangedUserName13 · 12/02/2024 22:34

Have a day indoors where I don't answer the phone / talk to anyone lol 😂

Attempting to stick to my 30 day Pilates challenge as that's made a difference

SisterAgatha · 12/02/2024 22:36

It’s mad but I need to see blue. Be it a lake or a horizon. I live near lakes so obviously this helps!

MaverickBoon · 12/02/2024 22:37

NYT Connections daily.

An hour of intense pilates weekly.

Other than that it's all a bit hit and miss!

Alicewinn · 12/02/2024 22:39

Park run every week and cold water dips just for the social aspect honestly

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/02/2024 22:40

Baths. At least one day at the weekend I have a “mega bath” where I am in there for a good few hours. Bubbles, a magazine, my Kindle, sometimes a podcast. I like it boiling hot, and always bring in a pint glass of squash with me. Ideally at the end I will do a body scrub, shave, fake tan, then clean pjs and paint my nails and toenails.

Farwell · 12/02/2024 22:41

I run. I make time for friends. I buy myself flowers. I read. I take HRT. I don't worry about the state of the house or garden.

Lots of things. Having been burned out and broken, I won't ever stop putting myself first.

Moier · 12/02/2024 22:42

Go for a drive with a family member.. into the country / coast twice a week and have lunch out.. go swimming once a week.. see my family and Grandkids once a week.
Read and listen to music.
If all those fail ... Diazepam and some more EMDR.

Whycantiwinmillionsandsquillions · 12/02/2024 22:42

Not every week but I try clothes on.
If there is something I don’t like I either sell it or give it away.
I also go through my jewellery and this reminds me to wear lots of my jewellery.
I also go through loveyouu make up and toiletries.
Again this encourages me to use products such as gift sets. I throw away any old products.

MamaGhina · 12/02/2024 22:43

Moisturise. Face twice a day and everywhere else once. Otherwise I feel like sandpaper in winter.

SongbirdGarden · 12/02/2024 22:43

Focus on what's going well, rather than what isnt.

tillyandmilly · 12/02/2024 22:43

Watching dogs on instagram - cute fluffy pooches lifts my mood!

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/02/2024 22:43

Exercise. It's a non negotiable. Even if it's just a walk.
