I’ll go first, I try to get out of the house at least once a day. I know this makes me feel better and gives me perspective. I try to exercise once a week and I know that eating healthy makes me feel good. What do you do for yours?

Yoga class

Bouledeneige · 12/02/2024 22:46

Big walk every week. Podcasts to get to sleep to stop circular overthinking.

Lushers · 12/02/2024 22:47

Lift heavy weights. Play loud music in my kitchen. Dance ... have baths with candles on and more music.. have lots of alone time with my vibrator 🤣🤣

cardibach · 12/02/2024 22:47

Sing in a choir and play in a concert band.
Creative, requires my full attention and gives me a sense of achievement and pride.

MissingMoominMamma · 12/02/2024 22:47

I walk my dogs. They’re so darn happy on walks, it’s infectious.

KCSIE · 12/02/2024 22:50

Hot shower every day before bed when the kids are asleep. It's my decompression time. I feel so rushed if I try and shower at any other time of day, this relaxes me.

lljkk · 12/02/2024 22:50

Cardio exercise, being outdoors.

Nellieinthebarn · 12/02/2024 22:51

Make my bed, take my meds, eat breakfast, go for a walk outside. After that I do something constructive. Anything, even if its just clean a loo, or empty the dishwasher. That means that today was not a complete waste, I achieved something. And if all I can do for the rest of the day is huddle in an oodie, that's fine, some days that is the best I can do.

Candleabra · 12/02/2024 22:51

Think about things I am grateful for.

familyissues12345 · 12/02/2024 22:52

I make sure I have at least one bath a week, that's my favourite thing to do!

I'm hoping to start a weekly mindfulness session soon too

Not weekly, but I also try and have a day to myself at least once a month - including lunch at my favourite Pret!

FootDown · 12/02/2024 22:52

I run at least 3 times a week and do some form of exercise every day.

Spend time with animals.

Write lists so I’m organised and don’t have things going around in my head to remember.

Meditate.

StarDolphins · 12/02/2024 22:55

Nice easy tea from Waitrose on a sat after cooking/washing up all week! Love just putting a curry in the microwave & that’s it!

Every day, I cuddle my dog. He’s so calm & content with his life & I just love giving him the attention he deserves. Makes me feel happy.

Also try to watch 1 funny thing each weekemd(don’t ever get time in the week) could be Office, Only Fools & Horses or a film - this week it was Planes, Trains & Automobiles!

LouLou198 · 12/02/2024 22:55

Read, knit, take my meds, eat well, get some rest, see friends. Generally just look after myself, something I have only just started in the last 12 months!

CherryBlossom321 · 12/02/2024 22:55

The gym. Keeping on top of the house. Skin care.

If money was no object, I’d add; weekly therapy, fortnightly massage and facial, sun holidays twice a year.

Youmeandacupoftea · 12/02/2024 22:55

@familyissues12345 hi, would you mind sharing the details of the weekly mindfulness session you’re starting please? Thanks

ScottyDoesntKnow · 12/02/2024 23:00

Breathing exercises and affirmations to calm myself on work mornings.

Mirtrazipine and propranolol for anxiety, Cerelle for PMDD.

No phone in the bedroom, night or morning.

almostthere75 · 12/02/2024 23:04

Quiet time indoors on my own.
Being peaceful

Run 2-3 times a week.
Dip in the sea - all year round. This has been the best thing I ever started doing (3 years now).

Orangebadger · 12/02/2024 23:08

Walk my dog.
Read lots.
Have the occasional PJ day where I do as little as possible.
swimming. For me this is a biggie as I love the water. But I think any form of strenuous exercise a couple of times a week is good for the body and mind.

ScabbyHorse · 12/02/2024 23:09

Play keyboard or guitar

New2024 · 12/02/2024 23:10

Long walks that include time to stand and stare at the view. Photography, often part of the walks.
Making soup, this has filled the space in time I used to spend cooking meals for my Dad who passed away last year.
On rainy days when I’m wfh, I watch some ITV3 afternoon drama with a cup of lemongrass and ginger herbal tea instead of the walks.

Citygirlrurallife · 12/02/2024 23:19

Walk the dog. I’ve never owned a dog or lived in the countryside but done both in the last 18months and thank god cos the last 3 months especially have been shit and I’m so grateful for the beautiful walks no matter the weather with my dog who is always so bloody happy

bluejelly · 12/02/2024 23:22

I think I need a dog...

Freckles65 · 12/02/2024 23:32

Get outside in the garden, go for a walk. Vitamin D supplements in the winter months.
