it will be another half an hour or so until I actually find out

fourhundredandsomething · 09/02/2024 00:22

I can tell you it is banging a lot though.

OP posts:
Dartmoorcheffy · 09/02/2024 00:22

Is the lid on it?

Winekg · 09/02/2024 00:22

How hot a wash?

Melony75 · 09/02/2024 00:23

With a bit of luck the lid won't come off.

Is the lid on it?

It is at the moment, from what I can see through the door

How hot a wash?

@fourhundredandsomething why don't you stop the machine and take it out?

Outthedoor24 · 09/02/2024 00:28

You'll end up with a mess.
I think you'll need to clean filters and run the machine empty on a hot wash possibly bung a dishwasher tablet in to try and clean the machine and pipes.

Outthedoor24 · 09/02/2024 00:29

Dishwasher soap will be formulated to break down grease more than laundry soap.

well, I would if I knew how. I can stop it but not drain it or open the door.

End the current cycle and then run the drain + spin cycle.

SequentialAnalyst · 09/02/2024 00:44

No advice. But finding this thread is the most exciting thing to happen to me today. Fingers crossed for you - and BrewBrew should you need it.

EBearhug · 09/02/2024 00:46

It'll probably be okay if the lid stays on.

Messy and expensive if not.

I dont think its got a drain and spin cycle... or maybe it has but I dont know how to access it - anyway, it is reaching that stage of the cycle now anyway I think

OP posts:
fourhundredandsomething · 09/02/2024 00:49

Its got lots of fancy bits, but there is only one cycle I have ever run in all the years it has sat there in my kitchen. I know you are supposed to be able to download fancy cycles and things and control it with your phone, but I have only ever pressed "start!" I really have!

It will likely melt and grease up all the bearings etc so you’ll end up with a washing machine that will go on working for years without so much as a a squeak. Current clothes in machine will be ruined but it is a small price to pay.*

*I have no idea but interested to find out!

Just here to find out! How big a tub?!

Gunpowder · 09/02/2024 00:52

IIRC washing machines typically operate at a lower temp than they state so maybe you will be fine!

fourhundredandsomething · 09/02/2024 00:53

ooohhh, I think its finished! I hardly dare go and look....

Stop it and set it to spin. It will drain itself and then you can open the door.

ToffeeShocker · 09/02/2024 00:54

Is it bad I want the lid to come off just to see what will happen? 🤭(Sorry OP)

Northernsouloldies · 09/02/2024 01:09

Oh toffee shocker... You bad person.. But saying what we're all thinking. 😁
