Some discontinued stuff I would love to return:

1.) Ham and cheese mini Cheddars

2.) Jaffa cakes with the lime filling

3.) And most of all Birds hot crunch pudding (banana for preference)

Anything you really miss? Food that were part of your childhood....

Pacers. They were the mint version of an opal fruit. They just vanished - albeit many, many years ago... I remember exactly what they tasted like. They were green and pale green striped. Does anyone else remember them?

Yes. I was going to say Pacers. I remember the first time I had one. No other mint has ever quite matched up.

Sun Pat cheese spread. Bright orange and tasted of happiness.

Ah my mum used to make the most amazing cheese sauce out of Sun Pat cheese spread, we used to have it as cauliflower cheese, yum! 🧀😋🧀

Cadbury’s Marble (praline)

Please advise if you know the nearest thing. I suppose a Guylian seashell perhaps but it’s just not the same!

Northernsouloldies · 08/02/2024 23:34

Burtons cheese and tomato puffs
Proper club biscuits.. Thick chocolate you could nibble off.. Then eat the biscuit underneath.. Not the thinly choc coated crap you get now.

M&S crispy prawn wontons
Chambourcy Real chocolate mousse
Romany biscuits

As much as I call M&S rotten for discontinuing my favourites often, it’s part of its charm as there are always so many new finds in there. This is why I stopped going to Pret for lunch years ago: they hardly ever change their options.

Dry roasted salt and vinegar peanuts.

I now have to buy dry roasted peanuts and salt and vinegar peanuts and mix them up….and it’s not as good, but the nearest I can get, are you listening KP ?

BoredAndTiresome · 09/02/2024 00:14

Greggs whopper sandwiches, when they were square, not flipping cheapskate triangular ones….actual squares.

Oh and pasties from Peters Bakery, the cheese and onion and meat and potato were BIGGER and much better than Greggs current offerings

Haha! I was just thinking how a Vesta curry was the most amazing thing we'd eaten. Ever.

I don't know why I read your original post as - I'd sell my wife for ... 🤣🤣

Not the risotto, but I did see a Vesta Curry kit, recently, in a shop
Not sure where though

I used to always get a box of chocolate bunnies at Easter. The chocolate was gorgeous the nicest chocolate I’ve ever had and the box was pretty too

I don’t think it was Lindt but can’t remember the make and not seen them for years

Yes they were Lindt. They came in other animals too, I remember kittens and ducklings.

I do! LFC had an away kit one year that made them look like pacers.

Milk Tray bar. Never had one as too indulgent for a youngster but I used to stare at them on the shop counter. I'd bring back Toffee Cups too.

Nelliemellie · 09/02/2024 10:18
