Mine’s serendipity.

I love how complicated it sounds on your tongue & the meaning of it.

What’s yours?

Skulduggery - it’s piratey and mischievous.

To the poster on p1 who said Chicane was their fantasy pop group, I’m afraid these guys got there first. I love this song 💜

Gormless. I once heard someone described as having gormless legs and it summed them up perfectly!

pizzaHeart · 06/02/2024 00:51

Great and fuck. But not together.

Tarkan · 06/02/2024 01:12

Hiatus. I just love the way it sounds.

I've been learning Romanian on DuoLingo and the word for owl is "bufniță" (sounds like boof-NEETS-oh) which I really love.

Fuck - versatile word that can be combined with lots of others. My favourite combination is fuck-a-duck

Angrymum22 · 13/03/2024 20:26

Efficacious, I first heard it in the old song "Lily the Pink" by Scaffold. It sounded really interesting but the only time I have ever heard someone use it in context was my endocrinologist many years ago when I was in a drugs trial and he used it to describe the drug being trialled.

I couldn't help grinning when he said it, so I had to explain.

When I was young, in an attempt to increase my vocabulary, my DF would challenge me to learn the meaning of a new word and use it correctly in conversation. It lead to some very interesting conversations around the dinner table.

My second favourite word is soporific from Beatrix Potters "The Flopsy Bunnies". Beatrix Potter was brilliant for new vocabulary.
