Mine’s serendipity.

I love how complicated it sounds on your tongue & the meaning of it.

What’s yours?

Lollygagg
Describes how my children approach any task

Moier · 05/02/2024 19:17

Actually my very best every favourite word is.

Granny.

Love hearing that.

Petrichor (the smell of the earth in summer after it's rained)
Closely followed by fuckwittery... if someone can make me a sentence to embody both I would be eternally grateful

It is utter fuckwittery to roll in the summer earth after rain, but at least there will be petrichor

Will that do?

Banger.
I will never get tired of describing something as 'a banger'.

louderthan · 05/02/2024 19:24

Oh also: 'Nigglygauge'. Said by my great granny to describe some sort of fiddly action eg to get a key to open a sticky lock.
'You've got to NIGGLYGAUGE IT!!'

Not only do they have pleasing mouth movements, they are also completely inoffensive words yet they trigger bizarre reactions in other people.

Having words that give you the collywobbles makes as much sense as having words that delight you, I suppose.

Both remind me of my mum who would accuse us kids of doing both !
