Wedding - you have to pick 3 songs

In need of some major inspiration please 😅 DP and I are getting married fairly soon. Very intimate ceremony. I need music to play as we walk in, sign the register, walk out etc.

We don’t really have “our song” or anything. DP isn’t particularly big on music. I love all different kinds of music but don’t really have anything that I need to have at my wedding 😅

Give me some inspiration - if you had to pick 3 songs to have played during your ceremony, what would they be 😊

We had:

Walk in: Instrumental version of Sweet Child of Mine
Signing: Isreal K, Somewhere over the Rainbow
Walk out: Sweet Home Alabama

I’m pleased with what we had
In: Walking on the Milky Way - OMD
Register: The Book of Love - Peter Gabriel
Out: Rocking All Over The World - Status Quo (the registrar was playing air guitar, was hilarious)

Forest gump theme - Alan Silvestri.
Better together - Jack Johnson.
We have all the time in the world.- Louis Armstrong.

Some nice suggestions here 😊 please keep giving me your choices. I’m going to make a playlist to have on over the next few weeks and see if anything stands out to us 😊

Walking in: Ed Sheeran - Tenerife Sea
Signing: Christina Perri - Thousand Years
Walking out: Kodaline - The One
🥰

at our wedding we’re not signing the register (celebrant led ceremony) but…

walking in - Elton John / Something About The Way You Look Tonight

walking out - The Beach Boys / God Only Knows

SuperheroBirds · 05/02/2024 10:50

We had:
walking in - an instrumental version of (Everything I do) I do it for you, Bryan Adams
signing the register - (They long to be) Close to you, The Carpenters
walking out - You’re My Best Friend, Queen

WooWooWinnie · 05/02/2024 10:55

Walking in: The One by Kodaline
Signing the register: I Choose You by Sara Bareilles
Walking out: All I am - Jess Glynne

TossieFleacake · 05/02/2024 10:58

It must be love - madness

You to me are everything - the real thing

TheDogsMother · 05/02/2024 11:02

Walking in: Queen, You're my Best Friend
Signing Register: Madness, It must be Love and Stevie Wonder, Signed, Sealed, Delivered
Walking out: Pharrell Williams, Happy
Didn't have quite enough time for our other choice: Frank Wilson, Do I Love You (Indeed I do)

We chose fairly cheery ones as we were worried we would both end up blubbing otherwise !

NooNakedJacuzziness · 05/02/2024 11:03

I'd pick:

(Just like) Starting Over - John Lennon
Love is in the air - John Paul Young
Betcha by golly wow - Prince version

HoobleDooble · 05/02/2024 11:07

Etta James - At Last
Extreme - More Than Words
The Beatles - In My Life

DownWhichOfLate · 05/02/2024 12:51

Probably a combination of: Ray LaMontagne, “you are the best thing”; Black Keys, “everlasting light”; INXS, “never tear us apart”

user1471548941 · 05/02/2024 12:55

Very outing as it’s an obscure album track that I found and we instantly knew we should use…

Walked in to Tim McGraw, All We Ever Find
Signing music was Chris Stapleton, Joy of my Life
Walked out to Country Roads, John Denver

I did make a pitch for Queen’s I Was Born to Love You but my husband thought we needed something more mid tempo so we kept it all country and the John Denver was a nod to my Grandad.

Gonksmum · 05/02/2024 13:52

I'm not sure of 3 songs really, but I think Rule the World by Take That would be lovely in a wedding setting.

I walked in to 'I've heard that song before' which is the theme to Hannah and her Sisters - I love that film

Signing the register we had Joe Pass playing She's Funny That Way. Can't find that track but here's the Billie Holiday version

I could have written this post myself! We're getting married in November in a small registry office and also need to choose 3 songs but have no romantic songs that we both like! Mainly my fault because of my taste in music (HipHop/Rap - don't think Snoop Dogg is wedding appropriate! 😅) so like you am really struggling!

We've so far come up with Whitney Houston - Higher Love and the slowed down version of Sam Smith - Latch but we're really struggling for a 3rd!

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 06/02/2024 14:29

We had an instrumental version on Guns n Roses November Rain when I walked down the aisle.
For incidental music when people were waiting beforehand and when we were signing the register, we had instrumental versions of other songs we like. Some of them fairly unlikely wedding songs, like Tenacious D. Most people won't have noticed, but it appealed to our sense of humour.

BiPolarBabe · 06/02/2024 14:33

I walked down the aisle to Elvis " I can't help falling in love with you"

Signed the register to Shania Twain "You're still the one" (took us 16 years to actually get married, so appropriate)

We walked out to Queen "You're my Best Friend"

JaneIves · 06/02/2024 14:40

Walked in to an ambient version of Cafe Del mar, signed to movin' on up by primal scream, walked out to Slide away by oasis.

SilverSimca · 06/02/2024 14:41

This Will Be Our Year - The Zombies
Let's Get Married - The Proclaimers
How Long Will I Love You - The Waterboys

IsabelaYourBoyfriendsHere · 06/02/2024 14:47

Our songs were:

Ho Hey - The Lumineers (for walking in)

Best Day Of My Life acoustic version - American Authors (for walking out)

Box Of Stones - Benjamin Francis Leftwich (for first dance)

I don't remember what it was for signing the register, something nice and instrumental though.
