Surprised at Waitrose staff member!

I was in Waitrose earlier and used their customer loo.

As I was washing my hands, a member of staff came out of the other cubicle and left without washing her hands.

I was genuinely shocked!
Would you tell the store?

The customer loos are checked every hour so guess she was probably checking the cubicles.
You would be surprised the number of grown adults who can't flush the loo after themselves so we often have to flush it for them.
We have to remove our aprons before checking the loos or doing bins & there is a hand wash station in the area where we leave our aprons so we wash hands there & put apron back on before returning to shop floor task.
We are actually not allowed to use the customer loos when in uniform.

Hope that clears it up OP although you haven't returned so assume you did complain & the manager explained this leaving you feeling a bit silly. Not to worry it does give us a laugh.

Is that why they bought in the aprons? Didn’t have those in my day…

She likely didn’t wash her hands, plenty don’t.

You were genuinely shocked someone didn't wash their hands? You must find life stressful.
Presumably you're not in W now so I think contacting management is overkill.

Have always had them since I've been there. Used to have grey ones now green ones. They aren't very popular with staff especially the blokes but our BM is pretty hot on us wearing them. Some branches I've visited don't seem to wear them so guess it depends on BM. The pockets are useful though!

There are hooks out the back to put your apron when you go on breaks, take bins out, check loos etc. makes me think of primary school.

It’s Waitrose, if she’d have pissed all over her hands it’d be pure champagne.

Don’t worry about it…..
