I'm just up, & about to drink my first cuppa of the day in my kitchen spot. I think I had one too many 🍷 last night & have a slight hangover. I'm also really hungry so will get breakfast soon - poached eggs on toast I think 😋

The washer's on for the second load of towels, first were on a timer. I'll bung them in the dryer soon. And there are a few pots lingering from last night that I'll wash up in a bit.

Today's plan is to walk to Lidl, via One Stop to send a Vinted parcel, with dd1. She wanted to try some of their frozen food. I was going to order a shop for delivery on Wednesday but will probably pick up loo rolls & washing powder there since we're doing that.

When we get in, I'll load a few more things onto Vinted & probably spend the afternoon crafting. I'm half way through 3 sets of peg dolls, and a personalised one, so probably those. Although I fancy some crocheting too!

Dd1 has plans to do half her A Level Law homework today, and half tomorrow, so she'll do that. And I think dd2 has done the majority of her homework so she can spend the day relaxing.

Leftover stew for tea, I fancy roast spuds so will do some to go with it, as random as that is! Then early showers & early nights all round, ready for the last week of term.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I had a horrible night's sleep and was awake loads so I'm a bit grumpy this morning. I've had two coffees and finished the raisin and pistachio bread. I'm watching the rain and wind outside and debating whether to go back to bed or not. Later I'll do an ironing, make soup and put a gammon joint in the oven. Enjoy your day

littleteapot86 · 04/02/2024 09:30

Knackered as DD (aged 3) was up most of the night with a very croupy cough. Husband still asleep 🤔 DS (7) has just woken up. I'm sitting wishing I was at the stage where both kids were happy to spend the day indoors alas DD despite being ill will likely want to go out, rain and all.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 04/02/2024 09:30

Just having breakfast whilst waiting for Tesco delivery to arrive.

I'm meeting a friend in an hour to do a dog walk. Back for lunch. DH is washing the bedding whilst I'm out.

Not sure about this afternoon. Might go to the beach for a swim.

TheChosenTwo · 04/02/2024 09:34

Morning!
Woke up surprisingly hangover free after a bit of a boozy dinner with my sister last night which is a blessing 😂
dc2 is off to work shortly, ds has been under the weather all week and continues to be so today. Dh is in the kitchen making shakshuka for our breakfast. I’m laying in bed MNing when I really should be changing my bedding.
We were going to the travel agents today but I’ll see how ds is before we decide on leaving him.
Roast beef tonight, got a lovely big rib, yorkies, the works 🤤

mysparkleismissing · 04/02/2024 09:38

Just got to the gym for a class and half hour cardio first
Then need to get a card before I leave town
Home to shower got some admin to do for the scouts group
Then cinema to see argylle and home for a roast.

Whattodo121 · 04/02/2024 09:41

Currently eating porridge with blueberries and Demerara sugar which is my fave. Did most of the washing yesterday, just need to change the beds. Have made shortbread which is in the oven, bread dough is proving and am making roasted vegetable soup for lunch, so that’s all chopped up ready to go. Am sitting waiting for my hair dye timer to go off and then will have a shower. Ds is going to the skate park with his friend, DH will walk the dog and clean out the chickens/do some gardening. I am ridiculously productive in the mornings at the weekend and then do as little as possible in the afternoon!

ssd · 04/02/2024 09:41

Morning @lucysmam , I'm not usually amongst the earlier posters on your threads but i was up early today to see ds off. I've had my tea and toast and now enjoying a frothy coffee. Dh wanted a lie in but he's awake early too. The weather is rubbish here!! Am hoping for a walk or a swim later but the baths will be full of kids as its wet outside...

No idea whats for dinner, am heartily sick of thinking about dinnersGrin

PermanentTemporary · 04/02/2024 09:43

Morning all. We got back from holiday yesterday so today's a laundry and sorting day plus both heading off separately to see our mums. Right now I'm enjoying my first bath in a week.

RabbitsRock · 04/02/2024 09:46

Morning lucysmam & everyone. In bed & not long finished a cuppa made by DH. DD15 has just returned from a walk. She was only gone about 20 minutes. Definitely need to do some washing & I want to clear the kitchen table as the Christmas tablecloth, runner etc is still on! Ages ago I bought a wipe clean tablecloth in the sale at work so will dig that out. I might write to my Aunty if I can find the paper ( hardly ever write letters these days). Trying to catch up on some tv programmes whilst I’m recuperating, including All Creatures Great & Small which I love. Nice easy tea of southern fried chicken grills, chips & peas. DH & I will watch Call The Midwife tonight.

Lifebeganat50 · 04/02/2024 09:47

Good morning mumsnet! I’m feeling human today after finishing a run of nightshift yesterday and feeling generally rubbish all day.
Another coffee just now, then I’m away to hang some pictures then go help my sister with some diy…after that I’ll do some batch cooking and baking, then it’ll be time for Call The Midwife tonight -my “comfort food” tv show 😂

ListenLinda · 04/02/2024 09:57

Morning all 😊
slow start to Sunday, have had coffee & breakfast, cleaned the kitchen down. Just chucked mine & DH bedding in the wash. We’re all up and dressed ready to go to DCs swimming lessons. Then we will come home for bacon buttys on crusty rolls & then to the park for an hour. Ironing uniforms & getting bags ready for school tomorrow, make a curry for tea before showering both kids.
Find something to watch on the TV tonight before going to bed, ready to start a new week.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/02/2024 09:57

Just finished my avocado toast and coffee in front of Sunday Brunch on the tele. The weather outside is awful again! I need to do something else soon, or I will just fester here all day until it's time to cook the roast pork for dinner.

littleteapot86 · 04/02/2024 10:04

So jealous of these days 😂do none of you have young kids?

Greentomatoes21 · 04/02/2024 10:07

Love reading these.
Slow morning after out at brother's 40th last night. 8 year old enjoyed organising 3 year old with cereal and some telly at 7am and they chilled in front of Shrek while we had a cuppa in bed. Husband then made bacon sarnies. All still in pjs, have promised kids cinema at 2pm but will do some maths homework with eldest first and get her long hair washed and uniforms sorted. I heard rumours of a chinese tonight, very unusual for a sunday but will be a nice treat. Kids in bed for 7.30, watch something (probs Call the Midwife in my case, DH will probs listen to music!) Then an early night. Parent teacher interviews this week (I'm on the teacher side of it) so need to get some good rest in preparation!

Kim82 · 04/02/2024 10:07

Good morning everyone. Had a terrible nights sleep last night - I went to bed around 11.30 then ended up woken up at 1am to pick dd16 up from her party (dd19 slept through dd16 calling her), got back to bed around 2am, dh then came in at 3.30am which woke me up and I didn’t get back to sleep til around 4.15, the boozy snoring then started at just before 6am so I got up to sleep on the sofa and got crawled all over by 2 of the cats who wanted feeding so I gave up and got up at 6.35am…. I was not amused!

Anyway, it’s quite mild here today so I’ve got the back door open to let some fresh air in and I’ve put a load of washing on. Dd9 had a friend stay over last night and they’ve just woken up so they’ll be down soon and everyone else is still asleep.

My plan today is to scrub the house as it’s disgusting and I also need to strip the beds. Dd9 has a swimming party this afternoon which I’m hoping dh will take her to and dd19 is working 12-6. Tea tonight is roast chicken on part baked rolls with salad then showers and tv before a very early night for me!

Mammma91 · 04/02/2024 10:11

Good morning @lucysmam and all! I’ve been up since the crack of dawn with pregnancy insomnia. It’s been a slow morning but I’m about to get myself and DS age 4 ready to pop into town to collect the crib and sheets. We paid and resevered them in October so I’m feeling both excited and a bit 😮 that baby no 2 will be making an appearance soon. Once we’re home it’ll be housework, dinner bath and bed for us all. I hope you all have a lovely day!

troppibambini6 · 04/02/2024 10:12

Morning @lucysmam and everyone else.

I'm still in bed. The house is quiet as dh has taken the two youngest for haircuts.

Dd is still in bed. We are all going to watch her play netball at 1 as she's in the playoff semi final and they have a strong chance of winning the league.

Bil is coming over later and we are having a roast.

Need to the usual homework/ school uniforms and have a tidy up later

frozendaisy · 04/02/2024 10:27

Our neighbours have kindly said we can fill the space in their skip so H is going to shift as much as he can from garden. Did the hard stuff last night and he is the one who goes to the tip so anything that makes too runs easier can go in. What a godsend.

I am making roast for friends round later, so will have an espresso martini or two, good food and games with the kids. I assume most of the school stuff is done.

Might attempting hang some paintings up in porch but that might be a job too far!

Hope everyone has a relaxing/productive/fun Sunday.

todayshappening · 04/02/2024 10:27

Morning, I'm still in bed. About to get up though and see to the dogs and grab a tea. My daughter and granddaughter have been here for 10 days and are going home this evening so I'll spend the day with them doing something and cook a roast.

Simonjt · 04/02/2024 10:28

Good morning, we’ve been for a morning play at the park followed by eating out for breakfast.

The smalls have got lego and duplo out at the moment, later I’ve got rugby training as has my son, so I’m hoping if I time it right I can drop him off and get to mine on time, rather my husband and our daughter having to stand in the cold for two hours watching him.

Tonight we’re going out for tea, ita a full no cook Sunday.

Peridot1 · 04/02/2024 10:32

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

I am shattered and contemplating going back to bed. Woke up just after four am and didn’t get back to sleep for ages and then woke up again at 6.15. Alarm was due to go off at 6.30 anyway. Could have done with those extra 15 minutes!

Was up so early to have a Zoom call with some friends in Australia and New Zealand which was nice. I’m going to Australia next week to see them so we were planning things. Can’t wait!

Washing machine is on washing some of my summer clothes ready for my trip. Then I need to wash some bedding.

i should go to the gym but my leg is painful so using that as an excuse.

Sorting some things for my trip later and also maybe doing some clearing out of things in DS’s room ready for some wardrobes being built in there soon.

Dinner is lamb shanks, mashed potatoes and broccolini. And wine.

Justonedayatatime11 · 04/02/2024 10:33

Morning @lucysmam.

Still in bed. Horrible nights sleep with 'D'H snoring like a warthog so I'm feeling particularly grumpy. He's now downstairs making coffee and breakfast.

Plan to do very very little today. Some ironing and the normal sorting of the many many cats. Venison for tea and then an early night in the hope I get a few hours sleep!

DRS1970 · 04/02/2024 10:37

Lazy start with coffee and pastries for breakfast. Then going to look at new sofas this afternoon, with a stop for a coffee. Followed by a lazy evening watching something mellow on TV.

BrightNewLife · 04/02/2024 10:39

Morning @lucysmam and everyone else. I was waiting for someone to start this thread, I love them!

Been up since 6am as I had an early grocery delivery at 06.30. Read some of my new library book with tea, then got cooking. I’ve made an Italian ragu, which has been simmering for 2 hours, as well as a chocolate mousse for later. I’m about to start on a French brioche (teen DS’s in the house). I ironed all the school shirts for the week listening to Radio 3.

Feeling super organised, as I cleaned the house on Friday night, all bedding changed, even sorted the sock basket. Today I’ll go into town, pick up some cards to send to friends overseas, work on marketing for my business, probably have to taxi the DC around.

Tonight is risotto and a film with DC if I can persuade them.
