I'm just up, & about to drink my first cuppa of the day in my kitchen spot. I think I had one too many 🍷 last night & have a slight hangover. I'm also really hungry so will get breakfast soon - poached eggs on toast I think 😋

The washer's on for the second load of towels, first were on a timer. I'll bung them in the dryer soon. And there are a few pots lingering from last night that I'll wash up in a bit.

Today's plan is to walk to Lidl, via One Stop to send a Vinted parcel, with dd1. She wanted to try some of their frozen food. I was going to order a shop for delivery on Wednesday but will probably pick up loo rolls & washing powder there since we're doing that.

When we get in, I'll load a few more things onto Vinted & probably spend the afternoon crafting. I'm half way through 3 sets of peg dolls, and a personalised one, so probably those. Although I fancy some crocheting too!

Dd1 has plans to do half her A Level Law homework today, and half tomorrow, so she'll do that. And I think dd2 has done the majority of her homework so she can spend the day relaxing.

Leftover stew for tea, I fancy roast spuds so will do some to go with it, as random as that is! Then early showers & early nights all round, ready for the last week of term.

What about all of you? 🙂

@littleteapot86 mine are 17 and 14. I'd never have still been sat here when they were younger!

Kitchen's now less of a bomb site - just the side where small appliances live now really. It's currently home to my painting things - I really need to find them another home!

I'm off up to get dressed after this coffee...sure someone else will get up eventually 🤔

We are at a total loose end as ds football match was cancelled this morning and his friend who was meant to be coming round later has also cancelled!

Grateful in a way as had a rough night with the toddler. We've had a very lazy, screen focused morning. Dh and ds about to have sausage sandwiches and I'm going to grab a bath.

Will try and get out for a walk later and get the beds changed, uniforms ironed and other Sunday jobs done. We'll have a roast about 5pm.

Feeling very bleh today - like I want to do exercise and be productive but just can't find the motivation.

caringcarer · 04/02/2024 11:02

DH is going to help my youngest son today put a lock on his bathroom door. DS is unwell and may possibly have COVID. DH will go and pick him up some shopping and drive over. DS will stay in his bedroom whilst DH sorts out lock on the bathroom door. I'm taking Foster Son to cricket practice for a 2 hour session, which I do every Sunday afternoon in the winter season. I'll go to Wetherspoons to wait and get a drink and snack. This evening DH and I have a meal booked at our favourite restaurant for 7.15pm. We also need to tidy our bedroom, put away clean washing into drawers.

MinnieMountain · 04/02/2024 11:11

I’ve done some washing and made chocolates pots for pudding. Currently lying on the sofa indulging my slight hangover from dinner at friends last night.

DH has taken DS to hockey training, then DH is going alone to see his DGM in her nursing home for what could be the last time.

We’re having roast chicken from the Jamie Oliver one pot book.

Aside from that, I expect DH will need lots of family cuddles.

Morning @lucysmam and all.
Still in bed after having a stomach bug since Thursday. Stomach is rumbling which can only be a good sign. Feel a bit crazy being indoors for 2 day's but determined to rest up and get fully fit.
Have missed Parkrun and my marathon training this weekend.
Probably a trip to the local shop to pick up a parcel and something for dinner.
Am just staring to plan for my next far flung trip to Vietnam next year.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning @lucysmam and all I'm just squeezing this into the morning still I think!

We've had a slow morning so far, pottering in the garden filling the bird feeders, made some cinnamon buns.

Homework this afternoon, and just getting ready for the week.

A nice cosy Sunday.

Lasagne, garlic bread and salad for dinner.

Early night tonight as I'm so tired!

spicedlemonpie · 04/02/2024 12:11

Got out of bed at 9 ish had tea fully awake at 10.30 ish.
No chores to do but will make bread today.
Get lost on line for a bit then read a book while some back ground smooth jazz is playing.
Bliss.

FayKnights · 04/02/2024 12:17

I am just out of time to say good morning!
But, hi @lucysmam and all 👋

I was up early and decided to do myself breakfast in bed, but managed to drop my porridge up the stairs!! Not a good start!!

The rest of the day will be spent blitzing the house, I did the kitchen yesterday and hid all the extra plates and bowls, so we just have enough out for the 4 of us. I’m attempting to make life as simple as possible!!
I’m just taking a break with a cuppa, but have put all the washing away and hoovered upstairs.
I’ve prepped dinner for the next few days too, I’ve been using lots of the TamingTwins recipes lately, I actually think someone on here recommended it, so thanks to whoever that was

I’ve got a job interview tomorrow and I think the cleaning helps me get my brain straight too! I’m excited about the potential role, but hate the feeling of being secretive with my current job, they are a lovely team, but my role is getting smaller and boring.

@MinnieMountain sorry to hear your news, plenty of family hugs definitely needed.

Have a good Sunday all.

monicagellerbing · 04/02/2024 13:04

Bit late to the thread but DH and I had a lie in as my BFF had both my kids over to her house for a sleepover last night! I've not had a child free night in 7 years so it was absolutely amazing. Did some housework this morning and stripped DS's bed. Went and picked the kids up, DH made everyone bacon sandwiches and now he's watching Narcos, I'm scrolling on MN and kids are doing their own thing in their rooms. Think I'll go for a nap, then I have a pile of ironing to do. Pulled pork and chunky chips for tea, hair wash night for me and the kids then DH and I will carry on with Fargo and I'll head to bed about 9pm ready for a new week.

Xatz63 · 04/02/2024 13:09

Was up at 6ish as wanted to make a beef bourgenion in slow cooker got ingredients yesterday after watching loads of youtube visits on how to cook !
Had a long bath ,got work stuff ready for tomorrow and now having a glass of wine or 2 until Sunday lunch
Then just being a coach potato for rest of day .

LaChienneDesFromages · 04/02/2024 13:14

Afternoon all!

we had a quiet morning as we had a busy day yesterday and are all still getting over a week of flu.

DD1 and I wandered to down to church where she sings in the choir and was reading prayers this week.
DD2 has a textiles project to finish by the end of the week and it’s up to her eyes in calico. I keep wondering if I should go in there and help, but realistically I have no practical skills to offer on that front.
DS and DH took the dogs for a walk this morning and have just headed to the farm shop to buy a joint of beef for later. I think they’re going to the driving range after that as they are both learning golf and are trying to drive over 120 yards.

This afternoon, DD’s and I will make a couple of cakes. DS has a test to revise for and wants to make scones. I might try to get in the garden to cut some old growth back as it does finally feel that spring on the way now.

I’m hoping we can all settle down to watch Death in Paradise this evening. Then it’s an early night all round before another busy week.

Thislittlekitten · 04/02/2024 13:39

Afternoon all. Had a busy morning getting DS ready for rugby.

At work now and will be here all day. Hoping to read my book on break. When home later I have uniforms to organise and plan the week ahead in my head.

OhpoorMe · 04/02/2024 13:48

Some lovely days planned / happening.

I was up early this morning despite no reason, so had a leisurely start to day with a cuppa, sat in the window planning my chores list for the day .

Have been for a long walk with friends this morning, and now back to my list. I'm doing a big charity shop/ tip run tomorrow so am in full declutter mode. Currently at the stage where everything looks worse than before...

Then will make sausages and yorkshires for tea with some cosy telly ahead of a manic week at work travelling all over the place.

MinnieMountain · 04/02/2024 13:53

Thank you @FayKnights . She’s 97, so it’s not unexpected. She was asleep the whole time DH was there.

maddiemookins16mum · 04/02/2024 13:55

I’m on day 15 of my ‘diet/health kick’. I’ve lost 8lb.

Up early this morning, did egg and bacon for breakfast. Did some gardening and sorted my car insurance and renewed my English Heretics membership.

Popped to see a friend, dropped her off logs for her wood burner and a new hand knitted (by MIL) cardigan for her 4 week old premature Grandson, he still only weighs 4.5lb but is doing well.

I’ve just done a Zumba Gold workout on You Tube, 3000 steps.

DH is packing for a work trip this coming week.

Dinner is at 4pm, slow cooker chicken and lots of veg and a token roast potato.

Tonight we have Church and then home for CTM and bed.

Eggsley · 04/02/2024 14:07

Afternoon all, I'm always late to these thread but I do love reading about what everyone has planned.

DH is still unwell so he's been in bed most of the day. DS1 has been gaming and chatting to his friends. I took DS2 to football training for 9am and then stayed to sell the teas and coffees as I do every Sunday morning.

Got home about 12, did lunch for everyone and then popped up to Tesco to get some bits for dinner tonight and tomorrow, and lunches for the week.

There were only a couple of cars at the car wash so I'm in the queue for that as my car is filthy.

When I get home I've got ironing to do for the week ahead, the kitchen needs a tidy and clean and the bathrooms need a clean as well. Ready meals for dinner tonight as I wanted something quick. DS2 will have a bath later, then he's got reading to do and spellings to practice. I've also got a couple of loads of washing that need doing, I put one in before I came out so that should be finished when I get back. I'll paint my nails this evening if I've got, time ready for the week ahead.

whysorude · 04/02/2024 14:27

Good afternoon everybody, and what a lovely thread. 😊
I was up at 7.30 with reflux. After taking something for it, decided to go back to bed for an hour or so. Woke up at 12pm but instead of feeling guilty for sleeping in, decided my body must have needed it after last night's kitchen disco. Feeling motivated for once I got up and did 2 short workouts with Fabulous50 on YouTube.
Just had lunch and now going to walk Ddog with DS, followed by tackling the hand-wash pile and a quick tidy up of the house.

ilovebagpuss · 04/02/2024 15:13

Afternoon all! I missed this morning as I was dashing off to Aldi and dropping DD 17 at work.
Had a rather job filled Sunday of food shop, pop to see DF, clean inside of car, clean bathrooms and cooking!
DH was working yesterday so he had some time for a long run today and he's chopping some wood now for the log pile.
I slept badly after reading an apocalypse novel (from another thread on MN) it really unsettled me as it was a realistic scenario not zombies.
Doing a prawn pad thai for tea and then on my treadmill later to try and lose some weight.
I enjoy it though it's become my time to zone out.

Giggorata · 04/02/2024 15:26

Good afternoon lucysmam and all,
Late to the thread today, as I had a burst of energy this morning and turned out the hellhole cupboard under the stairs.
It wasn’t as bad as I feared but I've sorted out loads of things I never use for the charity shop, such a foot bath, a small hoover, a duplicate steamer, etc and taken out the Ikea step thingy with plastic drawers that didn't really work in there.
We took it down to the shed on the land for all the seed packets and small tools.
We had salmon quiche for brunch.

I was too late to hang out the washing as the clouds are forming, so now this morning's load is going on the Sheila maid over the wood burner, for which DH is chopping wood.
I know I say that practically every week but we combine oil central heating with a wood burner out here in the sticks, so it's an essential part of our economy.
Sometimes I cook dinner on it and there's always a kettle on the go.

I am going to sort out the recycling now and then sit down and read with some ginger and lemon tea.

Onesipmore · 04/02/2024 15:44

Up early and went for a swim. DD1 cooking chicken Chasseur tonight, woodturner lit, wine open. Call the Midwife and Trigger Point - book and bed.

Tiddlywinks63 · 04/02/2024 17:11

Good early evening everyone, very late to this thread today 🙄
DH took the dog for a long walk this morning while I finished sorting the wardrobes out, four black bags for the charity shop and a lot of rubbish in the bins 😊
Enjoyed a phone call with DD and DDIl sent some lovely photos of younger DGS at a school friend’s party, flying an eagle!
Feeling quite chuffed at my weekend’s efforts but now knackered. I will take the dog out shortly for a wander then have a nice bubble bath I think, with my book.

DilemmaDelilah · 04/02/2024 17:21

Hello @lucysmam . I had a bad night's sleep, but woke up before 8 to bring my DH his birthday presents and cards. It's his 70th birthday today. That wonderful man then brought me my breakfast in bed and a fresh hot water bottle so that I could go back to sleep for a bit. We haven't done much today at all, DH wasn't bothered about going out. He is having a nap now, about to wake up I think, while I'm getting our evening meal done. Roast chicken, roast potatoes and vegetables today, probably with stuffing for him as I know he likes it. We were going to have a family lunch with cake, but they have horrible snotty colds and we are both immuno-compromised so we have put it off until next weekend.
Just about to clean up in the kitchen now.
