Arrived a short while ago. So far I've just done Central Park and a walk up town but got lots planned.

Memorial
High line
Chelsea market
Little Italy
Soho stroll
Brooklyn bridge
ESB
Top of the rock
Times Square
Katz

Any suggestions?! So thrilled to be here. Not so fussed about shows...

Do you like museums? There’s MOMA and the Met?

NYCItsOnlyMe · 04/02/2024 01:30

I'm not particularly interested in art but I'm doing RiseNY and the Artechouse. They both seem pretty quirky

I'm doing ESB in the afternoon but would love to do another at night. Probably Edge or TOTR

CatchAButterfly · 04/02/2024 01:41

What about Statue of Liberty and Staten Island?

NYCItsOnlyMe · 04/02/2024 02:06

Staten Island ferry is on the list because it's free lol

The tenement museum?

NYCItsOnlyMe · 04/02/2024 02:45

Can I ask a really cringe worthy question?

NYCItsOnlyMe · 04/02/2024 03:16

New Orleans police are my favorite they have vending machines that sell souvenir t-shirts in their central police station.

shreknjumps · 04/02/2024 03:42

They won't no, they bloody love it 🤣

NYCItsOnlyMe · 04/02/2024 03:50

Lol so surprised at this I thought it would be a huge no leave them alone

Omg yes I did that! In fact, I deliberately waited until saw a hot one and took a great photo with him (he may have then taken my number and tried to get me and ny friends to go to a party with him, but we didn’t have the time…!)

We enjoyed mooching around the vintage shops in Williamsburg, and visiting Dumbo for the view back across to Manhattan.

We liked the vibe in the meat packing district as well, near to Chelsea market, l there seemed to be quite a lot of filming going on of something. We watched the sunset from Little Island near here too.

LoudSnoringDog · 04/02/2024 05:58

RiseNY is great.

9/11 museum is v interesting ( and sad obviously)

grand central station

if you like pizza go to L’Industrie, it’s worth the journey, try the burrata.

There’s a great army and navy in Williamsburg, it’s not just surplus, also sells bargain Schott and Levis and lots of cool shoes and duckboots - and the owner has a lovely dog.

Ride the little cable car back across the river from Roosevelt Island, it’s a quirky way to see a different view and deposits you right beside Bloomingdale’s which feels a bit like destiny!

The Whitney is pay-what-you-want on a Friday night between 5 and 10pm and there’s a great bar on the roof 😜

The Strand bookstore is a great place to get lost in and there’s a cool vintage shop right across the road.

Zabar’s is worth visiting just to buy condiments (and feel like you’re in a Woody Allen film).

Lucky you enjoy 😊

Bobbybobbins · 04/02/2024 07:22

I enjoyed Ellis Island, so interesting.

Flatleak · 04/02/2024 07:43

Take Times Square off your list except for a walking past it.

And take top of the rock off and go to the Edge at Hudson yards instead - much better view.
