Arrived a short while ago. So far I've just done Central Park and a walk up town but got lots planned.

Memorial
High line
Chelsea market
Little Italy
Soho stroll
Brooklyn bridge
ESB
Top of the rock
Times Square
Katz

Any suggestions?! So thrilled to be here. Not so fussed about shows...

We really enjoyed RiseNY. TOTR was our favourite platform although DS would say One World. Highlight for us was a tour of Madison Square Garden. That’s definitely worth an hour or so if you’ve got time.

Find the Bull and give his balls a rub and if you’re in the Financial District Georges Diner is brilliant for breakfast and don’t forget to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

Say what?! Give the balls a rub? Eh?

I was there just before Christmas and it was amazing! We had a beautiful sunny day for The Edge and the views were incredible…we did TOTR at night-do The Beam while you’re there if you can!

Rubbing the Bull is supposed to bring financial good fortune -we just rubbed his head though, not his balls 😂

Franunces tavern

shreknjumps · 04/02/2024 14:51

Yeah, give the balls a rub 🤣 you'll see when you get there.

Don't forget Ghostbusters firehouse, hook and ladder 8 then sliders and pints in the TriBeCa tavern after

Ellis Island museum was my highlight. Fantastic.

I enjoyed Ellis Island, so interesting.

I'm doing this tomorrow along with SOL!

Memorial was very poignant 💔 an amazing tribute to those poor people. Uptown today to do St Patrick's Cathedral, The Strand, RiseNY and perhaps one tall building for a view even though I'm absolutely petrified of heights. My app let's me choose between ESB, TOTR or Edge. But honestly it's probably going be a total waste of time. I couldn't even do Brooklyn Bridge because I could see between the floor panels and started shaking.

Which skyscraper DOESN'T give you a view whilst you're going up? Like a glass elevator etc?

I'm trying to force myself to do one even if I just look for a second hopefully around sunset time 🤞

You’re enclosed in the elevator in the Edge, you first se outside when you get out of it and it’s truly breathtaking

MurielThrockmorton · 05/02/2024 10:05

We did ESB and we were a little bit worried, but you go up to the 80th floor first where it's completely enclosed, so you're just looking out of windows, so I think that gives you an opportunity to acclimatise to then going up to the 86th where you can go outside. I get vertigo, but I found it fine because you're not looking directly down you're looking more out (unless you really want to peer over the edge!), I didn't get any vertigo at all and didn't know why I worried in retrospect!

dailyduel · 05/02/2024 10:23

I agree with the ESB comments above. Even TOTR is ok for height fears. The edge was too open for me although the good part is you can sit inside at the Edge rather than going outside if you’d prefer.

NYCItsOnlyMe · 05/02/2024 21:39

I did RiseNY earlier. Oh my word. That ride at the end? It was TERRIFYING 🤣
