I thought it had been axed from your thread title. Dramatic much? 🙄 All the episodes will be on over the week; it's just the day that is changing!
Lots of things are bumped for sport. Sport trumps everything which pisses me off greatly. Like they never show the end of The Brits if it's running late - and miss the beginning of a football match ... They cut off the end of The Brits. They would NEVER do the same if it's other other way around! And it's not just football.
Sport trumps everything, and yet I can count on the fingers of one hand, the amount of people I know who are sports fans. Obviously the exist. I just don't know many.
I also agree with some posters that Corrie has turned to shit. There are SO many bad storylines and shit characters now. The Bailey family are dire, and terrible actors. Simon (Peter's son) was a cute lad, but is awful as an adult actor. Dark miserable look on his face, and not a very good actor after all.
There are relatives who have never been mentioned before who suddenly turn up and move in to someone's house or flat. Carla Connor's nephew Bobby (who she never knew existed) turning up out of blue, and saying 'hello auntie Carla!' and moving into her flat is a breathtakingly stupid storyline.
They have turned Gail into a doddery simpleton who acts like she doesn't know her arse from her elbow, Gemma is a gurning, repugnant bore, and her mum is not much better. Pairing Gemma's mum up with Dev is ludicrous. No way would he go for someone like her. Ditto Tracey and the ex footballer. No WAY would he have gone for Tracey.
Jenny and Daisy buying the Rovers Return pub back with stolen money when the pub was shut down because of low sales is pathetic. They have done NOTHING different and everything is the same as it was before - when the pub was making no money. WTF is that all about? Nonsensical storyline!
Also, everyone works in the street, most live in the street, and everyone dates/is married to someone who they met in the street. They all go to the same pub, and most women work at the factory, or the bistro, or the Rovers Return pub! Most of the men work at the garage, the factory, or the pub, or the bistro!
When Corrie started, life was like this. 3 to 5 generations of families lived within half a mile from one another, everyone knew everyone, most people lived walking distance to where they worked, everyone you knew drank at the same one or two pubs, and most people you knew worked at the same half a dozen or so workplaces. But life is not like that now. Corrie has not moved on, and the storylines are stupid.
And the way someone decides to leave, and packs their life into 2 suitcases and leaves the next day - usually for 'Scotland' or 'Ireland' or 'That London' is farcical. It would take me a week to pack my books, CDs, records, and DVDs. And a few weeks to tie everything up and get all my ducks in a row. I would have to give 2 months notice at work!
Corrie either needs a complete overhaul and dragging out of the 1970s (because every storyline is half a century out of date.) OR it needs binning.
And I say this as someone who has been watching Corrie for FORTY EIGHT YEARS!
