DistinguishedSocialCommenator · 02/02/2024 13:01

Looking forward to nights recorded efforts - WTF, its not on tonight
and as the previous few weeks, we did not get an episode on Tuesday

ITV has so many channels that it could have easily put the crap on in place ofCS on another channel

Why have we been shortage again, disgusting!

The additional advertising revenue they’ll get for the numbers who watch the rugby or football is what pays for your tedious drivel favourite programme, so it’s a small price to pay for continuing to get what you want in general, surely?

I'm sure there's something you watch that others find to be tedious drivel. To each their own and lots of people like a bit of mindless entertainment in the form of Corrie.

Heather37231 · 02/02/2024 16:21

“Sad news”. As in news for sad people maybe, but it’s hardly the death of Bill Roache is it?

The post will be deleted. MNHQ don't allow links like that.

I* am going to make a massive protest on my blog and itv will take note
*
I highly doubt itv are going to give a shiny shite about your 'massive' protest. You need to get a life. The world isn't going to end just because an episode or 2 of Corrie was cancelled.

DahliaMacNamara · 02/02/2024 16:26

Okay, the thread title is a bit overkill, but the advertising revenue is surely going to be the same whether they play the game on a Friday night or at the weekend, as God and Nature intended?
I'm with OP. Friday night is the only night I get to insist on control of the remote, and the rugby has fucked it.

SaunteringOnBy · 02/02/2024 16:28

Awful programme watched by people through habit, nostalgia or simply having g nothing better to do than watch wealthy people that can't act pretend to be poor people.

It should be cancelled.

LoveTheDarts · 02/02/2024 16:28

I only watch ITV if there's sport on 😂 I can't remember the last time I watched anything else on it.

Surely coverage of live events takes priority over something that's has regurgitated storylines and hammy acting?

TheShellBeach · 02/02/2024 16:29

Right.

I'm in a real quandary now.

I'm not interested in Corrie Orrie.

I'm even less interested in rugby.

What to do, what to do?

Oh well, I suppose I could just turn over and watch something else.

Recommendations, anyone?

Sorry, what is "sechingling"?

I'm sure everything will be explained in the blog post.

Darts on itv4 or snooker on Eurosport 😉

Hmm.

Or dig out my box set of Dr. Finlay.

SameSameButDeliverance · 02/02/2024 16:34

It’s a business OP. If Corrie produced as much ad revenue as rugby, then Corrie would stay in its usual slot.

It doesn’t, so it won’t. ITV really won’t take note of your blog…

I've been looking on Disney+ for old TV shows and there's a few on there, not old old, but like from 2010 or so.

I like a bit of Castle. Bones is also good.
Lie to Me was a fun but totally daft show.

Also...

Disney+ has Bluey. One of, if not The best TV show of the last decade.

I think CS gets the largest viewing figures for itv, about 5/6 million as opposed to 12/14 million years ago

TV had not been invented 12/14 million years ago.

<snort>

That’s the point! If you want to control the schedules, become a channel chief. Otherwise, accept you can’t always get what you want all the time.

DemBonesDemBones · 02/02/2024 17:14

This has to be a piss take 😆

Thoughts and prayers with you OP at this horrendously difficult time. Perhaps MN can offer signposting some sort of support organisation...like reading a book or watching a film for one night.

Edited

Hello.
Appreciated!
We have Sky movies and Netflix, but CS is just that, CS - it's a Friday night making for my and my family - we record them to skip adverts - really good stuff

For goodness sake... I thought something serious had happened like a cast member had died... 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔

Me too 🤨

LlynTegid · 02/02/2024 18:13

Upon reading the title I thought that something such as the death of William Roache had happened.

I think it would be a better continuing drama if it went back to being two episodes a week, and I expect the schedule would be less punishing for the actors so the majority would stay a lot longer.

Same with Eastenders and some others.

Scarletttulips · 02/02/2024 18:14

I had the misfortune of watch an episode of CS last week - nice to see that they are all still screeching at each other, stuck in unrealistic situations and cheating.

WaterHound · 02/02/2024 18:20

Bloody hell stop whining! It's the SIX NATIONS FFS! Should be a cracking match tonight too - watch it and enjoy!

Yes and CS produces the most income I read. Do you have any links to confirm what you said as I doubt you got it correct.

RadiatorHead · 02/02/2024 18:25

I’m still annoyed that the episodes are now shorter and because of that, we basically have 5 shows a week instead of 6. More money in advertising for ITV and less viewing enjoyment. I kind of understood during Covid but that’s old
news now.
