What was a winning present for DH

What were your winning presents for your DH? I need inspiration! I can't think of anything he 'needs'. His birthday is next week. I can't get out much, so online would be great. He's not into golf, cycling, football etc. Early 40s.

The best present I got my dh were a mannequin, a nerf gun and a weighted blanket. (All at the same time)

However unless you have an autistic coaplaying husband this may just seem like the weirdest collection of items ever...

BiPolarBabe · 07/02/2024 20:20

cosplaying on app so can't edit.

HouseInTheMiddle · 07/02/2024 20:24

A remote control car which is exactly the same as his real car 😂

Sage oracle touch coffee machine (bought as a shared gift for us both)

Particular coffee beans he requested.

Shortbread

Sorry to derail but this thread has just reminded me of the poster who's DH bought her a periscope 😂

Oil painting of the Rocky 3 end fight scene with Apollo Creed. He said he loved it more than me 😄

ShadowOfTheSeason · 07/02/2024 20:31

Experiences go down well with mine, particularly more unusual ones. Favourites have included Optimus Prime Truck Driving, a jetski course and a Bilingsgate Market Tour and fish preparation class.

He's also been delighted with a bonsai, a coffee bean grinder and a wine making kit.

Safe options for him are nice toiletries, gin, craft beer and chocolate truffles.

A laser tape measure thing. I have no idea how DH makes such a meal of measuring simple things but he does. He's got a desk based job so doesn't actually need to measure anything that often but was still pleased with the ease of use and the knowledge that he will no longer get simple tasks fundamentally wrong.
Picking up on something a PP said, one year when the DC were small, DH's bday fell on a Sunday. DH's team (other end of the country) had a lunchtime kick off and it was on TV. I left the house with the kids at 8am & got home at 5pm having got him some of his favourite foods in & made sure the house was clean & tidy so that he didn't feel he should be doing anything other than doing whatever he wanted. He loved it.

I got mine and electric wok for Christmas and beautiful Japanese knives. He loves both and uses them everyday

AnnaMagnani · 07/02/2024 20:37

A BFI player subscription as he loves films.

I was given a jigsaw as a Secret Santa, did about 5% of it before DH took over. Turns out he loves jigsaws, he had no idea.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 07/02/2024 20:38

I'll caveat this by saying DH and I are geeks!

Blanket of middle earth map
The "one" ring
An apple tree of an apple he loved
Tickets to see Brian Cox
An elaborate strategic boardgame called Scythe

:) probably no help at all!

SwordToFlamethrower · 07/02/2024 20:38

Horror themed valentines. Scary film at the cinema, I DMd a Ravenloft dnd game for him and then for sexyimes, cosplayed as a succubus and tortured him.
He loved it!

Sparsely · 07/02/2024 20:39

monster truck driving day was a hit

Punxsatawnyphil · 07/02/2024 20:44

A night of all of his sexual desires, nothing is off the table. We don't do physical presents but do mind blowing sex instead for special occasions.

icelollycraving · 07/02/2024 20:46

His favourite gifts have been an Apple Watch and a coffee machine.

My husband enjoys this gift fairly regularly

🤣

Gettingbysomehow · 07/02/2024 23:08

My DS is 40, I gave him noise blocking earphones with integral alexa, radio, music player. The headphones block all external noise,
He loves them because he works from home and the neighbours are very noisy.

Gettingbysomehow · 07/02/2024 23:10

Also ex husband wanted a brewing course (£300) and was raving endlessly about it. He didn't get it because we got divorced but it was at the top of his wish list.

Ugg slippers !!

howlongtilsummer · 07/02/2024 23:45

Loving these!
Also the PP that mentioned the automatic measuring thing - he does a desk based job also, but bought him one a few years ago and he loves it. We were messing around one night and I measured his bits with it - it was either a generous reading or he was extra pleased to see the meter!

As a man most of the suggestions above are bollocks. Driving experiences are generally shite. I don't want to be 1000 ft in the air in a picnic basket.

If I need kitchen knives I'll buy them. Because I need them.

Pizza oven? How would you feel if I bought you an iron and an ironing board?

Lego Technic is good, (for me).

Or, if you have £10,000 to spend look at Armortek.

Nat6999 · 08/02/2024 00:56

A Magimix food processor
Scalextric

Hi, man. You're not every man? My dh bought his own pizza oven but he loves it like a pet.

Winning presents: a painted portrait of our first set of guinea pigs.

A mug celebrating his coeliac disease and the amount of shit that caused! (Dark humour).

He LOVES cooking, and was over the moon with a lazy Susan stuffed with condiments to try.

His favourite ever gift was a mug from his niece and nephews with Uncle.
