Going today with my colleague and her 3 year old. There seems absolutely loads to do, where do we start?!

at the risk of being churlish, i will be in Yorkshire soon and thought I'd check it out.
So i found their website. There is zero indication without trying to click around where it actually is. Any clues?

PuttingDownRoots · 31/01/2024 10:57

Its outskirts of Doncaster, just off the M18.

Brefugee · 31/01/2024 10:57

thanks, i clicked their twitter button and it's in the bio. So not far from where I'll be.

But a bit of a mistake not actually putting the location on the landing page. it sounds fantastic

Lochroy · 31/01/2024 11:02

I wouldn't take (young) kids either. Despite the fact they charge from 3years old it isn't geared up for younger kids. No shade for AGES after you enter, no low down sinks for handwashing or toilets.

Perhaps my expectations were all wrong, but given we had to fork out over £20 for DC, I expected better. By the time we actually got to the big ticket animals, we were so hot and exhausted it was no fun for anyone.

Brefugee · 31/01/2024 11:13

i don't want to hunt through their website, i want to see when i get on the landing page.
But i did click the how to get there, and then public transport. It told me all about my sat nav and ev charging but nothing about public transport.

The website is a bit of a mess. But i may go anyway for the dinosaur trail.

PuttingDownRoots · 31/01/2024 11:15

There are buses that go past the entrance of the car park from Doncaster Town centre/train station.

But public transport isn't the best to get honest!

Brefugee · 31/01/2024 11:18

yes but i expect when i click the "public transport" link that it will either say "nah, sucker, buy a car" or how to get there by public transport.

I am going to assume their web manager is useless and leave it at that.

Tdcp · 31/01/2024 11:20

If you're tired, turn right at the dinosaurs and don't carry going straight ahead. It lasts an age when you've been walking around all day...

Completely disagree we have been twice a year for the last few years. DD5 loves the zoo and has done since we first went at 2. There is plenty to see yet small enough that by the age of 3 she could walk round it all

ErrolTheDragon · 31/01/2024 11:26

Looks good.
It's a bit far from us for a day trip from t'other side of the Pennines but could be a nice weekend combined with something else - the Yorkshire sculpture park maybe, though we've been there - anything else good round there/nice place to stay? (2 sixty-somethings, no kids in tow!).

PuttingDownRoots · 31/01/2024 11:29

@ErrolTheDragon some National Trust places, a castle, the library has a lot of train stuff (doubles as a museum, with actual trains), an aircraft museum,... or an ice skating rink with a ramp between two levels if that's your thing!

Toddlerteaplease · 31/01/2024 12:47

@Lochroy my friend wanted to pass her daughter off as under 3, but she's too tall. She took her pushchair and soon regretted it, as her daughter was more than capable of walking round it all. But just wanted to ride in the buggy. (Not used pushchair since last summer!£
