Going today with my colleague and her 3 year old. There seems absolutely loads to do, where do we start?!

I've never been but just wanted to say, have a lovely day!

At the entrance and follow the route round. Everything can easily be covered in a day so no need to worry about where to start

Just follow the routes. It’s easily doable in under a day. Have fun!

Me and DH think it's brilliant and go there a lot as it's not far from us.

You can do it all in a day if you rush round but if you actually take time to watch the animals there is no way to see everything in a day

Its a pretty logical route round. Its about 5km!

They have a timetable of keeper talks.

(And try to avoid leaving at 3pm, the school next door finishes just before then, and the Primary at 3.30!)

We go a lot and it is doable. As others have said there's kind of a trail round which you can follow.

You probably won't get time to do this but the soft play at the entrance is fab! You have to pay for this but it's reasonable and the kids love it. It's a good option if the weather is miserable. Although if you've paid entry to the park it might not be worth it (we have membership)

We went with both our children and managed to see everything in one day including the dinosaur trail, we didn't go in the soft play or restaurants though!

It's a shame none of the animals have names or details about them individually.

It was good. Very quiet, and many of the cafes/ kiosks closed. A lot of the animals inside. It was cold so I dont blame them The gelato cafe in the Hive is really good. Unfortunately the pet shop was closed by the time we left. Need to come again without a three year old in tow!

It is definitely worth a visit without kids! I advise against midsummer though, the shade is very limited. We had season tickets one year, I sometimes went when the kids were at school.

Yes. There is no shade and I bet it's carnage during school holidays!

From chatting to a regular, the animals do have names. But it wasn't displayed anywhere.

It’s nice to visit on a warm spring day or warmly Autumn once the schools go back from summer holidays.

It's a shame they do t do a winter price. As we definitely didn't get the full experience, many concessions closed and most of the animals were inside so didn't see much.

They only open the kiosks during the summer holidays really!

But isn't half price for January at the moment?

If you're planning on going back in the next 12 months have a look on their website I'm sure sale is still on with last day today but you can buy a gift voucher that's for a day entry for £12.50 I think it is. You get it emailed/posted and then when you want to go you just book online and use the code on the voucher. I'm a member but have done this for my mum as we're going with my little in a few weeks time x

@Gabby10 thanks. I've just done that. £3.95 for postage is a bit steep though! Hopefully the weather will be warmer and more animals will be outside!

As pp have said it's easily doable in a day. Last time we went we got round in about 2.5 hours - we were rushing though as it was freezing and wet!

Worth noting there is also The Hive directly next to the wildlife park which has a fabulous soft play and dinosaur themed restaurant plus a few shops. In the summer they do outdoor shows in this area too but not sure anything like that will be on at this time of year.

I'm going to go on my own next time. So can do it more slowly. My friend's daughter is very well behaved and loved it. But it'll be nice to do on my own. Missed the capybara's and the rhinos.

Loved the ice cream parlour at the hive. And really wanted to go to the pet boutique but it was closed when we finished.

Its also awesome in summer as they have night concerts on nearby field. When we went they had steps headlining and the cost if ticket includes day admission to the park. The bronze ticket was only £1 more than usual ticket price! We arrived around lunch, had picnic, had a nice walk around the park seeing all the animals, then went and had a party 😂 only bit that can be a bit bad is its next to a sewerage plant so some areas can be a bit smelly!

I think the capybara are my favourites. They look like giant guinea pigs! Or maybe the red pandas.

They might be getting some new lions... its gone very quiet... (Ukrainian rescue).
