Not talking about rugby shirts or wearing a leek! But looks wise. What do you picture?

pretty with nice skin and hair and fresh skin

KeeeeeepDancing · 29/01/2024 22:28

Somewhat cuboid shaped.
Quite a distinct ethnic group in Britain I think

Greeksummer · 29/01/2024 22:29

Lots of people of various nationalities have told me I look Polish (I’m not), including actual Poles. Are they perpetuating harmful stereotypes or are there just characteristics that are more prevalent in certain ethnicities?

Welsh is a nationality and an ethnicity and I’m baffled as to why some people think these two facts cannot co-exist.

Iwan Rheon?

Not feeling or looking very friendly right now, tbh

I’m probably just biased because I’m Welsh and that’s how everyone in my family looks (and also lots of the Welsh people in the media look). Obviously, in reality there are all sorts of people in Wales.

Crikeyalmighty · 29/01/2024 22:34

Bonnie Tyler.

Well my Welsh side of the family were all olive/tanned skinned with very dark hair but light eyes. They were often mistaken for being "foreigners" due to how dark they were. I, unfortunately, inherited the pale, freckles from wherever else in my ancestral line.

some interesting research which shows that Welsh people do have a distinct look.

🤣 study of only 2000 Welsh people now means Welsh people DO have a distinct look 🤣

Apologies to anyone Welsh on this thread, it's getting silly now

And it is not even 2,000 Welsh people:

The project surveyed 2,000 people in rural areas across Britain

@IClaudine
Thats even worse than I thought

similarminimer · 29/01/2024 22:56

I am truly sorry for anyonewho is offended by this - but if you were asked to describe the average greek woman vs the average icelandic woman, i doubt many of you would struggle. It is not to say that there are not lack or asian Icelanders, or Greeks, but it is true that if you averaged the faces of every person from one of thise countries, there would be an overall popullation difference.

Welsh people had for a long time a relatively stable genetic pool. Historically a distinct language often associates with a distinct ethnicity.

Relax Wales, all is well.

We've got Gordon Ramsay prancing about and gobbing off down here.
