If someone said “You look Welsh” what do you picture?

Not talking about rugby shirts or wearing a leek! But looks wise. What do you picture?

Are you male or female?

Pale skin dark hair (thick almost curly).

Do you think they were saying "You look well" whilst chewing a sandwich?

Black hair, blue eyes.

I remember as a child of about 9, a neighbour said I looked Welsh - I had pale skin, freckles, black hair, green eyes.

Long dark hair, curvy without being fat.

I think of the actress Katy Wix (I think she's welsh)

Well, there's everyone I've grown up with.... so tall, small, fair, dark, thin, stocky, all the eye colours....

Or there's my (now all dead) grand mothers and aunties and great aunties:
Small, thin, dark curly hair, dark eyes. Always the dark hair.

No, we are all obese and/or rat faced and prance about in Welsh costume. Apparently.

Irish or Scottish I think of pale, blue or green eyed, dark haired. Irish - twinkly eyes. But Welsh? No clue!

China doll - creamy complexion with rosy cheeks, rosebud mouth, lush dark slightly curly hair, compact, strong but curvy (sorry, no idea why)

Typically, black hair, pale skin and light eyes or black hair, olive skin and dark eyes.

There’s the Christian Bale type colouring of brown hair with a slight ginger tinge and ruddy complexion but I also associate that with Scotland.

There's two main Welsh "types", IME. (This is of people I know who are ethnically Welsh, who've got family that's lived in Wales for generations - in one case can trace ancestry back to the old Welsh princes - and I'm thinking of Welsh speakers too, in general. The Cymry Cymraeg, as they say. Obviously lots of people live in Wales who aren't anything like this.)

One's petite with dark hair and a deep tan, and that's what I think of first.

The other's big and broad and freckled and sometimes a bit ginger.

I’m north-welsh. My whole family and extended family and family going back as far as forever are/were dark haired, mostly curly, verging on black hair. Dark eyed. Olive skinned. Short. And I won’t comment on the hairy except to say immac was probably invented for us .

I'd find it a very odd comment as all my Welsh friends don't really look "welsh" they just look like themselves

Short, balding, glasses, yellow or orange waistcoat, red scarf and blue hat.

Very dark (possibly curly) hair, olive-skinned, stocky build.
