I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the morning, in my kitchen spot. I've woken up with a headache again - paracetamols again & fingers crossed this cold does one soon 🤞

I'll put the washer on shortly for the towels & wash up the few pots there are. I bought new cutlery yesterday so need to wash that before using it. Won't be doing much else in the way of housework today!

We haven't got anything planned for today other than a walk down to Lidl for cereal and washing powder <exciting>. When we get back, I might paint, or crochet, or solve some more Murdle.

Dd1's still working on her homework so needs to do that, and dd2 was planning to clean/tidy her bedroom so she'll probably do that.

Roast chicken for tea, with roast spuds, yorkshires and veg. Birthday cake from dd1's 17th for afters 😋

After that it's the usual early showers and chill, and early ish nights, ready for work tomorrow. I might file and paint my nails in front of the box 🤔

What about all of ypu? 🙂

Morning @lucysmam

I had a sleep of two halves but feel ready for action!

DH and I are going for brunch today, visiting elderly relatives and I may throw a mop around at some point Grin

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Product3257 · 28/01/2024 09:27

I'm at work, 12 hour shift.
Spending my break browsing Shein and drinking lots of coffee because I've been up since midnight

Kim82 · 28/01/2024 09:29

Good morning. I hope your headache eases soon.

I’ve been up since 7.40am with dd9, I’ve fed the cats, put a load of towels in the washer and folded the clean washing from yesterday.

The weather is quite nice here today so I’ve left the back door open since I got up this morning and whilst it means the kitchen is a little bit chilly, it’s not actually cold and the fresh air is lovely!

I’ve no real plans again today. Dd19 is working 12-6, I need to drop dd9 at a party at Ninja Warrior this afternoon and I still need to clean the house as I didn’t do it yesterday.

So I think it’s just a cleaning day today unfortunately for me. Tea is roast chicken and then it’ll be helping with homework, showers for all then some tv an early night ready for school and work.

lucysmam · 28/01/2024 09:30

Ooh @Product3257 I hope your shift goes quickly!

Gentle amble with my cousin and her dog- not been anywhere since Christmas, then back to finish lesson prep and do ironing. Belly pork for after. Have a good day everyone.

Crunchymum · 28/01/2024 09:32

Morning @lucysmam hope you manage to shift your headache.

Feeling quite productive this morning as I've already stripped all the beds, done both the cat litter trays, cleared two airers of clothes and done breakfast (we didn't get up until 8am either!)

Waiting for food shopping to come.

Plan was to go for a canal walk but DC2 has a sore knee. No injury that she can think of but its really hurting her. She swims, does gymnastics and ballet so I want her to rest up today.

DP is helping his parents do a dump run but once he's home he's going to take DC1 up to Oxford Street to spend some birthday / Xmas money (we are a tube ride away but we rarely go)

I have all the stuff for a roast (chicken) coming in the shopping so that's dinner sorted.

We have all the boring stuff to do - homework, ironing, deep clean bathrooms but we should be good to settle down for a film later.

mamaduckbone · 28/01/2024 09:33

Good morning @lucysmam and mumsnet.
That sounds like a nice relaxing day but I hope your headache goes away. I seem to have had one on and off since Christmas - I've given up caffeine so it might be that, but also think I've done something to my neck. I've started Pilates so that could be to blame. Clean living clearly doesn't suit me!

Dh and ds2 have just gone out to rugby but ds can't actually play as he suffered a concussion last weekend. He feels fine but the rules are 21 days off so he's not best pleased.

I've had tea in bed and am currently preparing a cottage pie for lunch. I've got some school work to catch up on this morning, then picking my dm up to join us for lunch. She's offered up an apple pie so the boys will be pleased.

We might squeeze in a walk this afternoon depending on what time she wants to go home. Ds1 is working at 6, ds2 might have homework. If not we'll watch something together before he slopes off to his room. Dh and I want to do some holiday browsing but it depends how I get on with the school work this morning.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 28/01/2024 09:39

Hope you feel better soon @lucysmam. I'm gearing myself up for a run - it'll be my first one of the year but I need to shift a few pounds. Then we're having a roast dinner (so the run may be a bit pointless!).

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 28/01/2024 09:41

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I hope your headache goes quickly. I've had three coffees and two slices of toast. I'm sitting doing nothing but will get myself moving soon. Lentil soup to make in the slow cooker, a chicken to roast and a small ironing to do. Later I'll visit mum in hospital. A quiet day ahead. Enjoy your day

Penguinsa · 28/01/2024 09:43

Hope your headache gets better soon LucysMam

DH is just out with DD. Taking old microwave to Curry's for recycling as we got a new one.

Then likely Sunday lunch and swimming. And we have a special collection tomorrow so need to get that prepared but won't take long.

HelenaJustina · 28/01/2024 09:47

Hosting a lunch for 18-20. People are bringing things and it’s only family so low key.
Did tidying and cleaning yesterday but need to get up and get on as they could be here in just over an hour!

TheChosenTwo · 28/01/2024 09:47

Not much, ds has a temperature and spent most of yesterday lying in bed watching tv, he’s still not up yet but suspect it will be more of the same.
dds both out and about, dh is just making us breakfast. I will go for a swim early afternoon and pick stuff up to have for dinner tonight.
Will get some washing done.
Bit of a lazy one here really!

Bonjovispjs · 28/01/2024 09:48

I'm going to the Britain's got talent auditions later on 😊

mondaytosunday · 28/01/2024 09:49

I've finished my first cup of tea, dogs have been out back and one of them is on my bed with me snoring. A cat is curled up by my feet.
My daughter is on a sleepover and other than assuring me she 'has not been kidnapped' (I dropped her off around the corner because god forbid someone would actually see her with her mother) I haven't heard a peep. No idea when she'll get back. I promised her I'd start on a crochet top she wants so that's my main task today; my first attempt at a garment.

Chelsea26 · 28/01/2024 09:50

Good morning all!

I’m currently still in bed on my second coffee delivered by lovely DP. He’s downstairs working as he’s on call this week and I think I hear DSS with him. DS2 and DSD are still dead to the world.

I’m about to get up and take the dog for a walk. DSD’s hockey is likely to be cancelled so are plans have now changed but not quite sure to what? Potentially a look around the shops and then lunch out somewhere before we drop all the kids to their other parents late afternoon.

Quiet evening after for DP and I, I need to decide what we’re having for dinner. I want comfort food but also want to stick to my diet… Maybe a beef casserole with root veg mash?

Happy Sunday everyone!

WhatsYourDamageHeather · 28/01/2024 09:51

DH was out all day yesterday with old school friends so I was solo parentis. This means today I get a lie in (I'm still in bed eating banana & honey on toast with a cuppa) then I'm going to have a nice shower, get ready and have a walk into town then treat myself to lunch. Homemade curry for tea and finally finish The Bear.

Giggorata · 28/01/2024 09:59

Good morning lucysmam and all,
I am just about to get up and have tea and then we are going down to the land to do some jobs, get ready for some planting and saw some wood, etc.
It's quite fine but cold, so I am going to wear a mad lot of layers and hope for the best.
Then back for an English breakfast sort of brunch.

Laundry, etc and a deep clean in the boiler room, where we had the odd rat, until DH did his trapping duties. Apparently the widespread cold and flooding has brought loads of them into sheds and dwellings this winter.
(I have cognitive dissonance about this, as I can't help feeling sorry for them, but also have a Dalek like determination that they have to be exterminated)

Then I'm going to buy a birthday present online for one of the grandchildren that live abroad, and research hotels for the science fiction convention in August, whilst we listen to the Early Music Show.

DH is doing a lemon and garlic spatchcock chicken tonight and then we'll just veg out with Trigger Point.

Justonedayatatime11 · 28/01/2024 10:01

Good Morning @lucysmam! Hope your headache clears off soon.

I've been up since silly o clock after a horrible day yesterday thinking I was going to lose 1 of the kittens. A very very expensive vet trip and this morning he's back to bouncing around, eating everything in sight and generally being adorable. I however am knackered, broke and have a dozen new grey hairs.

Off to collect DD from her dads at 12 to go and continue breaking in the 2 ponies. It's actually dry and not windy here for once which is nice.

Tempura chicken and something quick for tea tonight and then hopefully an early night. Finished watching Bodies last night so now need to find something new!

KalamazooZoo · 28/01/2024 10:04

DH has just bought me tea in bed, I slept very badly 2 days ago so slept for almost 9 hours last night.

My old work colleague is coming over for lunch, we worked together for about 10 years but I have retired now. She is still there nose to the grindstone, she is about 12 years younger than me and I only see her a couple of times a year as she has some caring responsibilities as well. DS GF is over this evening and I’m doing a roast dinner. DH and I will watch some tv this evening and maybe play an online game together.

lucysmam · 28/01/2024 10:05

Oh no @Justonedayatatime11 I'm so glad to see you didn't lose the kitten & he's on top form this morning!

OP posts:
Justonedayatatime11 · 28/01/2024 10:16

@lucysmam I think losing 1 has clouded my judgement and I now panic and assume the worst! Just glad he's back to his normal naughty self

frozendaisy · 28/01/2024 10:39

Good morning everyone,

S1 just made us real coffees so we shall await why?
S2 not to be outdone is presently whipping up scrambled eggs, so we are assuming it's going to cost many pounds for something off Steam!

Rest of day chilled Sunday. Roast dinner, few chores, still trying to get everyone to watch Sonic 2 but the kids are into Elementary series now, which is brilliant, so couple of episodes of that later.

Shergill15 · 28/01/2024 10:40

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. Fairly slow start here, making the most of it before DD's rugby season starts again next week. I need to get some laundry and tidying done, homework for DD. Weather looks dull but dry so think we'll walk down to my mum and dad's this afternoon. Dinner I think will be salmon, then sorting uniform/work clothes etc.

lucysmam · 28/01/2024 10:41

🤣 @frozendaisy I'm well acquainted with "do something nice for mum & we can probably get...".

I'm just about to get dressed & remove dd1 from her pit, to head to Lidl. Have no gogo this morning 🤷‍♀️

Good morning everyone, I've had a lovely lie-in this morning after a terrible week of little sleep, so I feel refreshed. DH brought me tea in bed and I've only been up about 30 mins.
Today DH will be finishing off self assessment for both of us. This afternoon he is helping adult DS to put up a TV bracket. I'm cooking a brunch for FS and myself then at 12 I have to drive FS to cricket net practice for 2 hours. I pop into a nearby Wetherspoons and have coffee and some lunch. Then collect him and drive back home. This evening I'll do a couple of loads of laundry and read over my self assessment to see how much tax I have to pay and press the button.
