My poor almost 13yr old is really suffering with stinky pits.

He showers every day and applies triple dry deodrant after and then applies a standard mens long lasting one in the morning and a stick version after PE. We've tried nivea, sure, Mitchum etc but nothing is working. I picked him up at lunchtime for an appointment this week and he was already smelly even though he'd not had PE.

It's definitely not his clothes, I'm a pro at stinky boys clothes now.

Before I try the gp us there anything else I can try?

I'd start from the inside, is he drinking enough water? At that age they may not be to avoid having to use the toilet during school.

Yes, yes.to the proper soap, demonstrate scrubbing, he can strip to waist and use wash hand basin for demonstration purposes and clothing replaced with cotton as much as possible.

Mine is 15 and takes showers evening and morning to feel fresh going to bed and after a sweaty night.

Diet may be also a factor. I would hold off the industrial strength products as we are learning more and more about their possible health impacts. I'd try manage it without going there as much as possible.
