If you watched the Traitors final ... [spoiler alert]

... I'm sure everyone can agree Harry was a "brilliant traitor" and it was "only a game", but having seen how naturally and casually he was able to lie and manipulate people, would you now be wary about forming a relationship with him in real life?

For me, I think his relationship with Molly crossed a boundary. It was brilliant TV, but an uncomfortable ending. I'm sure they gave Molly counselling afterwards and I read that she and Harry have patched up their friendship since the show was filmed, but I wonder if she will find it difficult to trust others in future. I suppose the cynics amongst you would say "all men are scumbags" and it was a good lesson for her. 🙂

I think Andrew knew deep down Harry would try and vote him out at last stage and he was unlikely to win which is why he made comments about Harry to try and throw doubt into Jaz and Mollie's minds to help them end up with the cash

Same

Married2023 · 27/01/2024 23:02

He already has a serious gf who is a BBC presenter and loads of 'famous' friends so don't think he really need the money he just wanted fame..

Think Mollie should have won!

decionsdecisions62 · 27/01/2024 23:14

Mollie was only in the final because Harry used her as a shield because he could do no wrong in her eyes. She knew he had a shield at one point and he asked her to lie about it. If she needs counselling it's for her absolutely naivety.

reflecting2023 · 27/01/2024 23:27

I loved Harry and thought he was great. Andrew threw him under the bus in the final as he kept saying 🤣 and if Mollie had voted Harry then she and Jaz would have won and shared the cash, Harry would have had nothing which would have been rubbish as Mollie didn't really play she just coasted.
Unfortunately the final was really uncomfortable as we all knew Millie was relying on Harry who was a traitor- however much as I loved Mollie this was daft as the game was not to go round asking if others were faithfuls and believe them but to try to work out who were the traitors.
Bottom line Mollie didn't really deserve to even be in the final, but the fact that she was made it quite embarrassing as she put her friendship or crush with H above the game and he didn't. But I think she wasn't quite sure- she nearly did.
It was a shame as I think Harry felt really guilty because of how it panned out. But I feel sorry for Mollie because she did look like she was out of her depth in the game.

Notmetoo · 27/01/2024 23:31

There were so many clues that Harry was a traitor and noone picked them up. They were all completely taken in by him not just Mollie.

I agree Harry played a good game but I think he did go too far with Molly who seemed very vulnerable. She completely forgot she was playing a game.

LWSnow · 27/01/2024 23:36

i think the lesson to us all is that you can't tell when someone is lying to you.

Scarletttulips · 27/01/2024 23:37

Harry done very well and I feel sorry for Jaz because if Mollie used her head, he would have won half the money.

If Jaz had used his he would’ve won, voting Harry our first, he and Andrew would be through, then they could’ve turned on Andrew - Jaz knew Mollie was on Harry’s side - he had no chance of winning once he voted Andrew out.

Notmetoo · 27/01/2024 23:37

GoldenOldy · 27/01/2024 20:13

After sleeping on it, had Mollie voted red (Not to end the game) in the head to head with Harry, surely she wouldn't have had anything to lose.

Think about it. If he was a faithful they would have shared the money and if he was a traitor she would have had it all! 😎

You can't vote not to end the game when there are only two people left. The game ends when there are two people standing.

Scarletttulips · 27/01/2024 23:37

And for that matter Andrew and Harry should’ve voted Jaz out and they both would’ve won.

BMW6 · 28/01/2024 00:01

It's a game in which every contestant is trying to win a pile of money for themselves FFS!!

Every single one of them is in it to win it. There's no Altruism or Morality.

MariaVT65 · 28/01/2024 02:37

No sympathy for Mollie at all, she applied for a game called The TRAITORS to win some money. Viewers hardly noticed her until the end. She was in the wrong game and doesn’t have the critical thinking skills for it.

She should have realised that Jaz wouldn’t have voted red if he was a traitor. Traitors wouldn’t want to continue the game. And even if she thought he was just being greedy, it would be obvious that he would get voted out because Mollie and Harry were close.

I was rooting for Harry. I also do feel sad for Jaz!

I think the shows problematic, do we really need a show that encourages a young man to manipulate and lie to (at the very end) a young woman?

I found it uncomfortable viewing tbh.

Give over lol. It looks like fun and is literally wink murder on steroids. We all loved playing wink murder at school!

lljkk · 28/01/2024 05:40

Ash said she never had so many belly laughs...

I don't think we see enough how much fun they have, too. I'd only go on it for the laughs (what Diane did).

dhxxx · 28/01/2024 06:28

At the end of the day, they both couldn't win the money. They were opposites in the game. One of them had to go home with nothing - would anyone be saying Poor Harry if she kept Harry's name on the board and sent him away with nothing? Doubt it.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 28/01/2024 06:48

I found myself really irritated at her naivety but she is a very young woman who simply fell for Harry’s charms and paid the price.

Exactly. He was the more deserving. The way the game is set up they couldn't share the money

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 28/01/2024 10:14

I didn't get the same bad vibes from Harry that I did for Paul. If you looked you could see he didn't want to be lying, his eyes, biting inside of his lips, almost not being able to look at Mollie in the end - he didn't look pleased with himself as he did it.

Paul and Sam (from the Oz version) both relished in the lies. They were thrilled to be pulling the wool over peoples eyes and couldn't help dancing literal jigs, laughing in 1:1 interviews with the camera and you can see their eyes twinkling. Also when things don't go their way they get very dark and cross; they hold grudges and start vendettas for any perceived slight. Very controlling.

So no, I don't think I'd hold it against Harry as he even said straight afterwards he was going to have to work hard to try to get Mollie's trust back, if it was even possible. He knows he screwed that up and it may never recover. If you asked Paul or Sam they'd wink and say they'd be able to win her over.

Agree. Harry seems like a personable and nice lad. Paul was more devious and even Andrew more full on.

Baldieheid · 28/01/2024 10:31

I thought Harry played the game with quite a lot of integrity (for a traitor) actually. He knew what he had to do, and yes, part of that was throwing people off his scent. If that means someone else is picked on, oh well. It was a game!

BakedBeansforabrain · 28/01/2024 10:39

Scarletttulips · 27/01/2024 23:37

And for that matter Andrew and Harry should’ve voted Jaz out and they both would’ve won.

That’s what they should have done, but Andrew was fixated on Harry throwing him under the bus and it clouded his judgment.

Mollie didn’t trust Jaz so I’m sure she would have voted for him too, and then Harry and Andrew could have voted off Mollie and won.

imagine this scenario 3 left in the final Harry votes for Mollie, Andrew votes for Harry and Mollie votes for Andrew!!!

MissJoGrant · 28/01/2024 11:12

Minglemangle007 · 27/01/2024 11:40

Why would Jaz vote to banish again if he was a traitor, what was she thinking?

A life lesson I don't think she'll forget......don't trust anyone at face value!

She may have been thinking that all three of them were faithfuls. For that reason, when forced to vote someone out, she would rather see Jaz go than Harry.

nellellie · 28/01/2024 11:19

Andrew didn't trust Harry and, when he voted to banish him, he was relying on Jaz doing the same thing. He had a conversation with Jaz about Harry beforehand that would have given him that confidence. Unfortunately Jaz didn't think it through fully enough to realise he should have voted for Harry first and Andrew second.

They didn’t need to vote her out.

Disagree - he thought Andrew suffering Harry made Andrew the traitor as that had happened before!

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 28/01/2024 11:23

It was very painful to watch Mollie at the end; i'm sure it reminded a lot of us of the first time a man we trusted pulled the rug. You could see her almost shaking her head as if to say "I should have bloody known!" and kicking herself for believing him. This is why so many women do have trust issues with men as we've all had this happen IRL and can relate or it wouldn't be such good TV.

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 28/01/2024 11:24

I also think Andrew hadn't seen how Paul acted in the Tower and possibly assumed Harry had been the ringleader.
