Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've just got up & made my first brew after a not brilliant night's sleep. I'd have turned over & gone back to sleep but I have a headache so want some paracetamol.

I'm sitting in my spot, in the kitchen, where I'll probably stay for an hour or so before I head up to get dressed & go with dd1 so I can pay for her birthday piercing.

After that, we're heading for a wander at The Range, via Home Bargains and maybe McDonald's 🤔 . I want a new bin and washing up bowl, dd1 wants a couple of under-bed storage boxes, and dd2 wants a bin for her bedroom, dead exciting! We'll wander the whole place though & dd1's already told me I'm not to spend as much as when I bought the Christmas tree 🤣.

When we get in, it'll be something easy for tea & then shower and an early night for me. Dd1 has homework she needs to get done so she'll probably do that, and dd2 will probably have an early ish night before getting up to watch someone's stream of Adele from Vegas.

Morning. It’s operation laundry for me today followed by dog walking.
Tonight I’m meeting friends for Christmas dinner. I’m making a pass-the-parcel and we’ve got Christmas crackers I bought in the sales.

I was up at 7 getting dh and the dss's off for football and then they are staying at dh's brothers tonight a few hours away before coming back tomorrow. It was too much faff and would need two cars and a dog sitter for me and the DD's to go with, so we are staying here.

I'm now back in bed watching an old episode of Downton Abbey with a brew. I'm having the period from hell so not planning on moving very soon or much today. Joys of peri meno. I never had period issues in my life, but boy am I paying for that now!

Will do some house work later and want to organise my wardrobe /cull a bit as I'm going back to work out of the house after a year wfh in a few weeks, and I need to get organised and get a sort of capsule wardrobe of things that don't make me look like a 6 man tent together.
Would like to dig some holes for a few bare root roses I bought during the week but that feels like a too much energy activity for today and the ground is frozen anyway.

Dd1 is working later-at last she passed her driving test so she can take herself and get herself back at 11pm-the luxury of no drop offs and pick ups for me! DD2 and I are going out for tea. Then an early night I would think.

A new piercing for your DD sounds exciting!

Ive been up for around an hour, just pottering around. 1 DC up so far currently lego-ing. I'm just having some sourdough toast and a cup of tea.

My teens have so much homework to do this weekend I feel they get too much but ho hum. Hopefully we will get to the gym this afternoon while DH takes the little ones to the park.

Gladiator's this evening everyone loves it! We have got into a little habit of having Saturday night dinner in front of the TV when gladiators and the kids think it's a real treat as we always sit at the table! We've got curry tonight, pizza for DC.

Then TV and wine for DH and I once DC asleep 🙂

Good morning everyone. We’ve had our usual slow start this morning. I got up at 7.20am, dh and 8 and dd9 surfaced at 8.30. The others are still asleep.

Dh has a rare Saturday off today so it’s weird him being here! We’re still lounging around drinking tea in our pyjamas. I’ve put a wash on and I’m just waiting for the Tesco delivery which is due before 10am.

We need to get the house cleaned today and I have to go up to my mum’s house for 1.30pm as I’m meeting an estate agent as we’re ready to put the house up for sale. 😢

This afternoon dd19 is working, dh is taking dd9 swimming, no idea what dd16 is doing (i think she had a friend stay last night though I’m not 100% sure, if so she’ll do something with her friend no doubt) and I’m going to clean the carpets in the bedrooms as they’re all a bit gross.

Steak, sweet potato chips and veg for tea for me and dh and the girls are having corned beef hash as they don’t like steak. Dh is off to a friend’s party tonight which I don’t want to go to so I’ll stay in with the girls and watch a film or read before bed.

Going to the gym soon, supermarket later - such excitement! 😂

DH is out with friends this evening so I've said I'll take the kids (12 and 15) to this Asian food hall not far from us. It's a lot of fun and we haven't been there since before Covid, so they were both really up for it when I suggested it.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I had two coffees and two slices of toast. I'm off to get dressed and head to Aldi for food. Then it's housework. Later I'll continue with my January Swedish death clear. I do it every January and it helps keep stuff down. I have pastelmat paper arriving at some point so I'll sort my art stash too. Art class begins again this week so I want to be organised. Have a good day

Morning all! Waiting for the food delivery with a coffee at the moment, then need to sprint off to the pharmacy to get my prescription before they close (lunchtime!) Off to the cinema this afternoon and then home for gladiators and lazy jacket potato dinner. Hoping to finally watch Maestro tonight!

At swimming lesson with Dd2 , then into her tap lesson . Dd1 has tumbling this afternoon but was still asleep when we left for swimming .
rest of the day will be just sorting things round the house . Need to clean bathroom and then this evening watch gladiators and chill .

Nice slow start here DH and I had coffee and crumpets in bed, now he's heading off for a run with his running pal.

DD's will do as they please today both mid late teens and tired from school/college. DD 17 has some college work to do and DD 14 might bake later.

I need to pop and visit my DF this morning and check in with him, he's had a bad cold. Later it's pop to Aldi and maybe Home Bargains for a few cleaning bits. Not sure what to eat later, I have chilli made in freezer so might do nachos and dips etc to go with. Fire will be lit for lazy evening.

I have attached a pic of the reason I can't get put of bed. It is rare she is fussy.

Drop dd to a match. Do a yoga class and then pick her up. Pick up something for lunch. Meet a friend for a dog walk up the mountains. Not sure what dh or ds have on today. Haven't thought as far as dinner yet.

It is DD’s birthday party this afternoon, so trying to get everything ready for that. Already looking forward to the post-party nap. 30 6/7 year olds is already tiring me out and it’s not until 1pm 😂

Hope your headache clears off soon. I'm still in bed, DH has gone to make breakfast and DD is at her dads.

Very little planned for today. I want to have a go at making GF old school sponge cake. Need to put a load of washing on and sort the many many animals. But at least the sun is shining here today.

I think DH is going to try and magic up some sort of satay and noodles dish for tea. I'm currently craving all the things my stupid IBS won't let me have and barely managing more than 700 calories a day so need to find a way to get some more in!

Casualty tonight and the last episode of Bodies on Netflix and a relatively early night, ready to go and continue breaking in the ponies tomorrow

Been up an hour or so and going to start tidying up with DP in a moment and put some laundry away.

Then we are heading into town to buy some birthday presents for a friend. We were going to get lunch in town too but I picked up a stirfry last night on way home from work that'll go out today so going to come home and have that instead.

No plans for the afternoon and going to make fishcakes for tea. Will also be watching gladiators later, I'm really enjoying it! Then maybe an early night as up early for a long walk in morning.

I do enjoy these posts and know the weekend has started when they pop onto active!

I'm excited because my cleaner is back this morning after two months off with a broken ankle. She'll have her work cut out! I have had a half hearted attempt since she's been off but the house is nowhere near her standards.

I'm taking my friend out for lunch because its her very large birthday! I've organised balloons and a cake at the pub. I have to keep her out of her house as long as possible so that her daughter can go in and decorate for a small surprise afternoon tea for her family and close friends. I've been invited but my friend has a cat and I'm highly allergic so will have to give that a miss.

Morning! Was up early to be in work for half 6, now just wishing the end of my shift would hurry up! Then home to try and construct a poly tunnel type field shelter with DH ... Bracing myself for lots of swearing, and praying the horses will use it!

Didn't set alarm this morning as been sleeping badly this week but still woke up at usual time so took myself off to Parkrun.

I've got lots on today but mostly explaining laundry to ds. He's moving out soon and needs to get it sorted. I've always done it, small house and i dont mind. But its another nail in the coffin to him moving out and there bring no more dcs at home. I know that sounds ridiculous when you're up to your knees in kids stuff and long for some peace, but when it comes to it your life is your kids. Well mine is. I'm really pleased for them but inside i know I'm losing something.

PS I've shown his it all before but this time it needs to sink in....

I have been swimming this morning which was shit as it was really busy. Going for lunch with a friend and tonight babysitting my nephews whilst DBro and SIL go out for their anniversary.

Just at lazing in bed waiting for my sausage sandwich, the will get up and showered as dropping OH to the train station to see footy

Might have a wander round the shops then chill as will have to pick up from the train station late at night

Aw @ssd I am dreading the day dd1 moves out for uni! She's my shopping partner/gig buddy/sidekick/shares my taste in music I ignore the rap crap she likes too.

Dd2 won't go anywhere...she's my shadow & still sometimes follows me to the loo to continue conversation when she gets engrossed in a discussion 🤣🙈

On the sofa in pjs - all 4 of us. Me and DH are recovering from horrible colds so it's a day of TV and leftovers. Hopefully we'll feel well enough later to give the house a quick once over and put some laundry away.

About to put the Traitors final on and Sainsburys delivery is due at midday.

Up earlyish to feed the horses. Then assembled the salmon en croute for lunch and stuck it in the fridge (DP's best friend from childhood and his wife are visiting - we've been together 15 years and I've never met them).
