Anyone else believe in the magical properties of this tub of wondrous gloop?

In our family it’s known as a fix all for everything.

Got a spot, mossie bite or limb hanging off?
A bad case of chub rub or sore bottom?
Need to re plaster the hallway?

Sudocrem is your answer!

My DCs laugh at how often I direct them to it, whatever their complaint.
(It’s either sudocrem, or duct tape as a solution in our house 😆)

What other uses are there for this wonder product?

I have an itchy dog, works wonders if she's itched herself raw, obviously I wouldn't put it anywhere she can lick it off!

BugsyDrakeTableScape · 26/01/2024 19:09

It's great on sunburn!

BrandNewBicep · 26/01/2024 19:16

If in doubt, I slap some Sudocrem on - works wonders.

Throwawayaccountonaccountofthis · 26/01/2024 19:19

I used to slather it on everything. Any time DC complained about something I would say ‘I’ll put some cream on it’.
They once turned to me when a tween and said ‘cream can’t fix everything mum’ 😂

DiligentBanana · 26/01/2024 19:20

I like that their Twitter account is 98% them saying "Sudacrem is not medicine" or whatever to people saying how wonderful it is.

DPotter · 26/01/2024 19:24

They have a Twitter account - I'll have to check that out

I use it on sore, dry hands which I get from work - cover the skin with sudacrem just before bed, then wrap a hankie around my hands. Hands are so much better in the morning - complete magic!

WonderingWanda · 26/01/2024 19:26

It is magical stuff!

Beamur · 26/01/2024 19:27

Oh yes! Marvelous stuff

KimKardassion · 26/01/2024 19:30

I do a sudocream face mask once a week after I read on here that someone did that. My skin is great the next day.

Snozzlemaid · 26/01/2024 19:32

Oh yes. It's great on spots.
I also use it around my finger nails as I have the terrible habit of chewing the skin. If I've had a biting session it's the best thing to heal it quickly.

hangingonfordearlife1 · 26/01/2024 19:34

yep used it since i was a baby and have used on all my kids, teens use it on their acne, baby uses it on his bum and occasionally eats half a tub and smothers it in his hair and all over the house. (just turned 2 hoping he will go off it)

CandidFruit · 26/01/2024 19:40

@hangingonfordearlife1 😂 I just came to say who on here hasn’t had a toddler smother themselves with it, and is weaned on the stuff?
I remember having to degrease DC3 with another household stalwart - fairy liquid 😆

It’s also used for preventing frostbite on the chickens combs 🐔 (the red wobbly bit on top of their heads) according to MiL!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/01/2024 19:47

It is truly magical stuff

blackpanth · 26/01/2024 19:48

It's great for everything

RandomUsernameHere · 26/01/2024 19:48

I'm exactly the same, it's a universal cure for all ailments! In our house it's "oh you've broken your arm, have some Sudocrem" Grin

Stopped working on my sons nappy rash. However sudocrem was magic. Smells lush

cornflower21 · 26/01/2024 19:49

Love love love it.

Summerpeachblossom · 26/01/2024 19:49

Love it! Had an infected csection would - two lots of antibiotics did nothing. Slathered it in sudacrem and sorted it out in no time!

Definitelylivedin · 26/01/2024 19:50

Yep. Used for pretty much all ailments. We used to keep a pot at the stables for the horse as well.

AnEmbarrasmentofWitches · 26/01/2024 19:51

Maybe they have changed the formula! Last tried it 14 years ago so I may be out of date.

I also have bad associations with it, which might colour my thinking - as a care assistant 30 years ago I had to smear it all over someone’s infected legs on a daily basis, which put me off the stuff!

Same in our house. All you need in life is a tub of Sudacrem and a roll of gaffa tape. There's nothing you wouldn't be able to sort out.

MeinKraft · 26/01/2024 20:01

Did you know it smells like lavender? Once you've smelt it you can't unsmell it.

Genevie82 · 26/01/2024 20:07

metanium !!! This is amazing on bad nappy rash - just incredible for clearing it up over night ! I didn’t both with sudocream after that discovery!

Birchvalley · 26/01/2024 20:07

In the past week I’ve used our pot of sudocrem on the dogs spay wound and my foot after I stepped on a spiky twig (that the dog had brought in).
There are few things that have not had sudocrem on.
