Tips on suspenders ..

hello ladies … I brought suspenders and stockings along with a lot of other stuff but I’ve never used them as they look fiddly ( the other stuff was great and my DP loved it). However my DP is taking me out for valentines and I think it would really turn him on with a skimpy little thong ( tmi but you get the picture 😅) . Does anyone have any tips for me .. was thinking to either wear them under my dress then all ready for when we get home or should I just
put on when I get home? But I really need tips on how to put them on… thank you!

Under the thong, makes it so much easier to use the loo and you can keep them on when everything else is off :)

Attach stockings to suspenders, then put them on. Wear them under your dress if you don’t want to get sweaty and annoyed just before shagging.

You might out on a trial run in advance. Suspenders have an undeserved sleaze reputation, but hardly know you are wearing a good quality belt (recommend Fantasie), but there is cheap rubbish out there (lots if it) only designed for the bedroom.

Ideally, the belt should have at least 2, even better 3 fastenings at the back. Single fastenings dig in.

Wear the so called back suspenders to the side, otherwise you will sit on them; not comfy.

Knickers over suspenders always!

Once you get used to it, it’s not fiddly to put them on, l can put stockings and suspenders on as quickly as a pair of tights. I’m a sticking wearer but still go for opaque tights in the mid-winter.

@StarlightLady I checked what I have and the suspenders and the rest of the set are for Ann Summers so it only has 2 fastenings at front and back so altogether 4 fastenings ( 2 per leg).., I suspect these are just suspenders for sex lol and might not be very comfortable.

OP, maybe l didn’t explain myself very well. My reference to fastenings was about the hook and eye fastenings (similar to a bra) at the back. Anything with a single hook and eye cuts in. So go for a wide back.

Two suspenders for each leg is fine, thats what l wear quite regularly for work in spring and autumn. For me, it’s bare legs in summer and opaque tights in winter though; I’m a practical girl!

The key issue is whether a belt will stay in place and whether the stockings will stay attached; metal clasps are better than plastic.

Stockings are great if your tights always tear at the crotch!

Get a six strap or even an eight strap suspender if you plan to wear them out of the bedroom. These are supportive, comfortable and sexy. They also have a decent deeper band around the waist that doesn't dig in.

Lots of choice. Anne summers tend to be bedroom wear for suspenders.

I had some fancy knickers you could attach suspenders straps to skipping out the whole belt. They were fantastically louche. This was in my thinner days. Don’t wear a thong they flatter nobodies arse. A pair of silk French silk knickers worn on top for easy shagging.

I think there is a comfortable solution between practical and looking like an octopus! Four suspenders are fine on a quality belt.

Eight is looking more towards fetish wear.

I’m really struggling to find anything on the stocking to connect to the dispenser belt so failing at first hurdle and the skyocking look like they are meant for a belt ., please see my pics! Testing my hair out!

Are they holdups? They look like they have elastic at the top of the stocking to hold them up without the belt

I can assure you all I’m female and not a pervert …of course I’m going to direct this to the ladies… not sure why the need for rude and unhelpful comments from a few people. Other than that the rest of you have been great as I was clueless on this front and really didn’t know much about even purchasing a good suspender belt let alone put it on. Thank you to those of you who have gone in great deal and taken time out of your day to help me!

They seem to be hold ups that don’t look like they will stay up for long though .. did manage to connect the stocking to the belt ., looked ok and might get one that someone suggested on here and if anyone can recommend good stockings would be great xxx

But surely if you'd tried them on you'd realise they're stockings and not hold ups, so they're not going to hold up at all without a belt?

Yes they held up without a belt .. I thought I’d brought stockings lol from the pic and description., I don’t actually mind this as extra security against a wardrobe malfunction when I wear under my dress 😅

Staying up on their own 😔 I do much prefer other things I have like I brought a lace body last week from Ann Summers last . My partner really loved it and it took me a minute to put on! I think I am only going to do this once seeing as I’ve made all this effort and I know he will love it too.

i got the Fantasie suspender belt, it really is lovely but am ditching the idea for Valentines as too stressful to wear it all out under my dress! I brought another sexy one piece from Ann Summers that I think my DP will love ann and I’ll just pop it on when we get home! However I have suspenders for another time just for home now! Couldn’t deal with that stress lol plus we are gonna have a few drinks which makes it all more complicated for clumsy me!
