Exercise leggings for size 16, that dont fall down!

Please recommend if you can. I'd like some high waisted, reasonably thick/firm leggings, preferably with a leg pocket, that don't break the bank and don't have garish patterns.

I have a few pairs but they invariably slip down, even when used for walking.

I'm currently rather apple shaped which can't help.

Sweaty Betty do lots of plain and patterned squat-proof leggings. There's usually a sale/offer/discount code happening.

Next have some with a drawstring waistband that are really good! Can't navigate their website, but got mine in store!

Matalan

Nestofwalnuts · 20/01/2024 22:22

The ones I bought from Decathlon have been brilliant. Never fall down, wash really well, properly opaque, very comfortable.

ClimbingHydrangea · 20/01/2024 22:26

Adidas running leggings with the ties inside. I am apple shaped too and no slipping down whatsoever. No leg pockets but they have a pocket on the back waistband. They come up a bit big so I’d size down.

Sweaty Betty.

NotInvisible · 20/01/2024 22:39

Pour Moi are amazing! They have pockets too

randomjo · 20/01/2024 22:40

Go Move leggings from M&S. My Sweaty Betty's roll down constantly and these don't, nice pattern too. Delighted with them

Malarandras · 20/01/2024 22:42

Sweaty Betty or Lululemon are my go to when I want to spend some money. I’ve never had one issue with leggings from either shop. M and S are great for a cheaper legging, really pleased with them.

DonnasShrugaleros · 20/01/2024 22:42

Sweaty Betty power leggings

Another vote for llama leisure - good high waistband that doesn't shift (and I've done yoga, weights and running in them). Well priced, well made and have a pocket option. They do plain colours alongside all the slightly more garish patterns!

Bemyclementine · 20/01/2024 23:02

I looked at Sweaty Betty before posting. They're very expensive! Out of my price range. I don't want to spend loads, especially when I don't know if they'll work for me.

I'll have a look at sone other links too thank you. I dobt like the idea of drawstring/ties really, I feel like it would take the comfort away potentially

I also came to say Llama leisure... so comfy and soft .

Fifthtimelucky · 20/01/2024 23:09

I like BAM leggings. I am a size 16/18 and the size 16 ones fit me well and stay put whatever exercise I do in them.

Hobbes8 · 20/01/2024 23:09

I’m a size 16 apple shaped and I like the M&S good move ones. I can’t bring myself to pay sweaty Betty / Lulu lemon prices for clothes I’m literally going to be a red faced sweaty mess in. Even with the M&S ones I’ve bought in the sale or new with tags on Vinted.

Ive had decathlon and H&M ones and they’ve been fine, but the M&S ones have a big side pocket that takes a phone.

LolaSparkle · 20/01/2024 23:12

Amazing Jane ... best leggings I've ever owned and now live in them 😁

pastypirate · 20/01/2024 23:14

Not fabletics they fall down! I e just bought some wrap waist gym leggings from next that are really promising.

ToastforTea · 20/01/2024 23:15

Most running leggings have an inner drawstring and this will mean they don’t fall down

Saxendi · 20/01/2024 23:16

Matalan surprisingly good.

ColdinNovember · 20/01/2024 23:16

A fee m and s recommendations. Any in particular or are they all good?

swift23 · 20/01/2024 23:20

Asos own active wear leggings are amazing , don't fall down at all so think and squat proof and are under £20
