Exercise leggings for size 16, that dont fall down!

Please recommend if you can. I'd like some high waisted, reasonably thick/firm leggings, preferably with a leg pocket, that don't break the bank and don't have garish patterns.

I have a few pairs but they invariably slip down, even when used for walking.

I'm currently rather apple shaped which can't help.

Asos own active wear leggings are amazing , don't fall down at all so think and squat proof and are under £20

Thick *

Small business My Urban Trail….all day long. Fabulous leggings never fall down.

Best I’ve ever worn and at £20 very reasonable too!

Another vote for them. Loads of their leggings have pockets and they never fall down. They wash beautifully too. I must have getting on for a dozen pairs by now.

Good Move range

@pastypirate a friend suggested Fabletics, so thanks for the info

I think I'll try the M&S in the first instance I don't have much luck online shopping so will pop in the shop this week.

I can recommend Lucy Locket Loves.

All Activewear – Lucy Locket Loves

High waisted, squat proof, some have leg pockets, some have a zip pocket on the back of the waistband, they can be as plain or patterned as you like.

I've got a few pairs - they haven't lost their stretch, support, elasticity or colour after almost 2 years of wearing and washing. Value for money in the longer term. They do have £10 sales from time to time.

Another recommendation for M&S good move. I am tall and deep waisted so leggings rolling down is a big problem. These are high waisted with a drawstring. Plus the phone pocket on the leg is really secure which I love.

Autumnleavesss · 21/01/2024 09:26

Nike with a drawstring

These are fab and I’m the same size as you. They aren’t shiny like most gym leggings but are Matt, soft, comfy and never fall down. I’ve bought a few pairs over the years but my 2019 ones are still going strong.

helpfulperson · 21/01/2024 09:30

love my decathlon ones. i'm a size 20 and they are so comfortable for hiking/running and line dancing in.

cloudglazer · 21/01/2024 09:34

Matalan. Mine don't have a pocket, or drawstring. Super comfy, never fall down.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 21/01/2024 09:47

I've tried loads and for the money I'd recommend Decathlon. M&S are good but sometimes don't have side pockets. I actually got a lot of my running gear from Vinted including Sweaty Betty stuff which frankly is just ok.

ApocalypseNowt · 21/01/2024 10:36

Another vote for Llama leggings here! Love them.

SweetBirdsong · 21/01/2024 10:39

@Bemyclementine

I got some from NEW LOOK the summer before last. They are still quite OK too. (ie, they haven't gone baggy at the knees, or split on the inner thighs like some leggings do.) £10.99. I am a size 14-16.

Bloody love this thread.

Just ordered two pairs from Amazon linked above.

Bemyclementine · 21/01/2024 12:09

@LividName I like the look of those too, do update!

Lucy Locket Loves - side pockets and don't move once they're on. Perfect for Pilates, and they wash well. Squat proof too. So comfy, love mine.

Whothatbe · 21/01/2024 12:30

Sweaty Betty Power- always being resold online.
Varley - let's go leggings - usually a few being resold too.
Both excellent and last forever.

stormy2 · 21/01/2024 15:08

I would go with gym shark. High waisted seamless leggings, the material is thick and definitely not see through. Other brands especially the cheaper shops are more likely see through and don't wear well for very long

Rufus27 · 25/01/2024 13:35

@Bemyclementine OP, have you found the right leggings yet? If not, I have a pair of the George ones I mentioned on the thread which I’ve worn once but are the wrong size for me (they’re marked 20-22 but I think they’re more a 16). I’ll willingly post them to you if you pm me your address. I’m not usually a fan of supermarket gym clothes but the quality of these has impressed me (have bought two more pairs in the right size!).

Bemyclementine · 30/01/2024 20:38

@Rufus27 I'm sorry I didn't see your post, I'd be very grateful, if you still have them, thank you! I will try to pm.

decathlon
go a size up. leggings that are too tight are not able to withstand gravity ime.

Batnm · 30/01/2024 20:42

Fabletics have fantastic deals when you first sign up. The leggings are great quality.
