I have low iron, could it be linked to this ?
The stars are new, the dizziness/woozy feeling I've had on and off for a few weeks but the last couple of days it's constant. I'm very breathless, had a headache on and off

Phone triage! You will never regret a call to check on your baby!

DrearyLane · 20/01/2024 11:45

ring your local pregnancy unit to get checked out, and consider it something you need to do straight away. It might be fine, but it is always worth checking out change in health. Hope you’re ok.

mauvish · 20/01/2024 11:50

Get yourself seen today. It could be nothing. Or it could be pre-eclampsia- potentially v serious indeed for you and your baby if left untreated. Getting checked is easy, organise it asap (def today).

This could be a blood pressure thing. You need to get checked out now.

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 11:51

I'm very very emotional too but that's probably just hormones, I have a blood pressure machine, well my husband does I will check my bp. Mine is usually very low, what would be considered high does anyone know ?

Urgent review at mat triage to exclude pre-eclampsia. Please ensure you do this asap. Hope all ok x

Mumsanetta · 20/01/2024 11:54

If everyone said don’t worry OP, have a lie down on your sofa and you’ll be fine would you listen? I think you’re going to have to practice how to deal with concerning health symptoms before baby arrives. Call 111 or maternity triage for advice.

Lifeinlists · 20/01/2024 11:54

You need to see a midwife or doctor. Today.

loopyloolou · 20/01/2024 11:55

Just call your midwife or maternity dept, they will most likely get you in and give you a check over and listen to baby. Don't wait x

CousinGreg55 · 20/01/2024 12:06

I'd be very worried about pre eclampsia. Phone your maternity unit now.

SpringViolet · 20/01/2024 12:09

Agree pre-eclampsia concern. I had it with the same symptoms, especially the seeing stars.

Is this your 1st pregnancy or 1st with the father?

Hope you on the phone to maternity unit and they tell you to come in.

Tittyfilarious81 · 20/01/2024 12:13

I'm not trying to frighten you but I had this and just thought I'd rest and have a lie down , it got worse as the day went on and I called the maternity unit where I went in and didn't come back out til I'd had my baby as it was pre eclampsia. I was lucky we were told a few more hours and there would have been a tragic outcome. Please don't waste time thinking it's nothing and get checked

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 12:13

Trying the Mau but constantly busy.
My blood pressure was 113/68 which is normal for me

@lowironandsurgery still go and get checked properly

Then just drive there in person. It's super important that you get seen today with these symptoms. Even if the BP is apparently normal.

Deebee90 · 20/01/2024 12:21

I never understand posts like this. You know you aren’t well but yet rather than get help you’re asking unqualified people on the internet. You are heavily pregnant , anemic and clearly not well. Unless your husband is a doctor get to the hospital . This isn’t normal

SmallestInTheClass · 20/01/2024 12:21

Please continue to try and contact them and if you can't get through call 111 or out of hours GP. I'm sure they will want you seen urgently. It could nothing but could be pre eclampsia which can be life threatening for mum and baby if not treated.

3luckystars · 20/01/2024 12:22

Just go to the hospital if the phone is busy.

loopyloolou · 20/01/2024 12:22

@Deebee90 especially as every single poster has said seek medical attention. Even if you were unsure the first few posts all said the same. I'm hoping the op is on her way to hospital as we speak.

Blahblah34 · 20/01/2024 12:23

Seeing stars is a pre eclampsia symptom

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 20/01/2024 12:23

All classic signs of pre eclampsia, get checked out ASAP

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 12:30

On way

piglet81 · 20/01/2024 12:35

Good luck op. I had preeclampsia and it can be very dangerous so I’m glad you’re going to get checked out.

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 12:40

Hopefully it isn't that though. Can the stars be linked to low iron ?

OP posts:
lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 16:26

Just to update, they want to rule out a blood clot. All signs of a PE apparently
I hope not obviously
My iron levels have come back okay and not bad so it's not linked to that
