36 weeks today so dizzy and seeing stars

I have low iron, could it be linked to this ?
The stars are new, the dizziness/woozy feeling I've had on and off for a few weeks but the last couple of days it's constant. I'm very breathless, had a headache on and off

Just to update, they want to rule out a blood clot. All signs of a PE apparently
I hope not obviously
My iron levels have come back okay and not bad so it's not linked to that

Glad you went to get seen

Mybusyday · 20/01/2024 17:38

Hope you are ok

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 17:43

Another doctor now has said maybe not a clot but want to scan for fluid on lungs and possible stress on heart...
I told them the breathlessness is worse at night and sometimes when lying in bed I feel like I have to gasp for breath

So glad you're in good hands now. And hope it's nothing serious and all is well soon.

For anyone in the same situation as OP looking for an answer, the answer to new, unexplained symptoms in pregnancy is always to seek medical help. Headaches, breathlessness, dizziness need checking on.

DrearyLane · 20/01/2024 18:28

I’m very glad you’re in good hands now OP.

SmallestInTheClass · 20/01/2024 18:38

Glad it's not PE OP. Great that they are taking it seriously and doing all the checks. Fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about but always best to be safe.

lowironandsurgery · 20/01/2024 18:59

Thank you. I'm glad I came in, it's all been pretty good to be honest aosrt form being starving so I had to ask if I could go and get some food, and while I was there went and had the xray. So just waiting on the doctor to review it now.
Realistically likely to be nothing best case, I thought breathlessness was part of pregnancy ?! It was the stars and wooziness that concerned me

Chest x ray fine, happy for me to go.
Just waiting around. Although still sitting here now struggling to catch my breath, who knows ! They've said must just be the pregnancy

Feel much better today thank you. Not dizzy at all which is nice after feeling it for so many days...
still breathless and it is definitely worse at night. Maybe it's a big baby ?

That's great, glad you're feeling better. At this stage space is definitely a factor. Definitely getting checked was the best thing to do.
Try to rest when you can.
