Love this kind of friend but it hasn't been done in a while.

I will begin.
Ask your question and you could also answer what you would like too!

So......

Would you rather a £1000 voucher for your favourite supermarket or clothing shop?

I think I would prefer the supermarket as you can get clothes in Asda/Sainsbury etc

That's a tricky one. Either way I feel like the relationship would be doomed to fail as I'm neither thick nor a genius so whichever I chose there's going to be a big disparity in our intelligence. So in that case I'll choose thick so at least there's his physical attractivity to appreciate when he doesn't understand stuff 🤷‍♀️, plus a genius would probably make me feel stupid in comparison

Qwerty21 · 20/01/2024 13:30

Would you rather never have a cup of tea or coffee again, or that every cuppa was disappointing

I'll put up with the disappointment. The ritual side of 'having a nice cup of tea' can compensate for much in the way of the tea not in fact being nice.

Would you rather never watch television again, or never read a book again? You can, e.g. watch a film at the cinema, or read other things such as newspapers.

Definitely never watch TV again.

If you could wake up tomorrow and speak another language fluently what would one you choose and why

Everything taste of what I just ate, I've had a cookie.
Would you rather go back in time to before you met your current partner ( or ex) or forward in time to your next holiday?

I would love to go back in time, as there are several things I would do differently if I could, but it's an awfully long way to go back - I'd need to go back 51 years to reach the year before I met DH. I was a schoolgirl, about to sit my O-levels. I think going back to the early '70s might be a bit too much of a shock, a bit of a "Life on Mars" experience! So very much has changed since then.

But think of all the tragedies and disasters you might be able to prevent!

Italian. I already speak it conversationally, but I'd absolutely love to be fluent. I'd like to have the option to live there or buy property there in the future and being fluent would be such a huge advantage. Plus, I'd be able to read books in Italian with ease, rather than it being enjoyable, but less so than in English.

cheezncrackers · 20/01/2024 13:57

Would you rather be poor and beautiful or rich and ugly?

TheLogicalSong · 20/01/2024 14:15

I'll be rich and ugly, please. I'm used to being ugly so the money would be a bonus with no real downside for me. Also, poor and beautiful strikes me as quite a vulnerable position to be in.

Would you rather be able to eat/drink whatever you wanted with no detrimental effect on your health or appearance, but the food would cost 95% of your disposable income; or eat only healthy but very unpalatable food that was free of charge?

SmilingMoon · 20/01/2024 15:48

Blimey that's tough. I love food but I don't think I'd want to spend so much of my income on it. I'd rather the healthy but unpalatable food.

Would you rather be married to someone with whom you have boring conversations and no common interests, but who is 100% reliable and treats you really well and works hard, or to someone with whom you have riveting conversations and experiences but who is unreliable, doesn't pull their weight and can be mean?

Theoldwoman · 20/01/2024 15:52

The former, definitely!

Would you rather live in a minimalist home with the very basics, or a home full of clutter and stuff everywhere?

I live in the latter but would love to live in the former, but I'm fundamentally incapable of it.

Would you rather win a Nobel Prize (in a field of your choice) or receive cash of £500,000?

Right now? Cash. Car went kaput this morning. Any other day? Nobel prize

Would you rather have 10 small penises (penii?) for fingers, or a penis for a nose?

Ladybrrrd · 20/01/2024 16:07

10 small penii please. I'd wear gloves.

Would you rather have a five minute conversation with your past self, or your future self?

cantelope · 20/01/2024 16:09

My past self, for sure.
If you could only wear 2 colours for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Sunday12 · 20/01/2024 16:11

Black and white

would you rather spend Saturday cleaning your house or working on another job that allowed you to earn money to pay someone else to clean your house?

Ladyj84 · 20/01/2024 16:17

I would rather clean as I love cleaning lol.
Would you rather eat savoury or sweet food?

Ladybrrrd · 20/01/2024 16:18

I'd clean it - just carry on as I am and do a shit job 🤣

Would you rather have to say everything that ever comes in to your head, or never be able to explain yourself properly?

Ladybrrrd · 20/01/2024 16:19

Savoury!

TheLogicalSong · 20/01/2024 17:16

Never being able to explain myself, for sure! I'd never hold down a job for 5 minutes if I had to say everything that came into my head: imagine it: "For fuck's sake, another stupid email from that clueless twat Richard ..." Grin

Would you rather make one minor faux pas per month that you'd cringe about for a few hours then forget, or one huge faux pas every two years that would haunt you to the end of your days?

SmilingMoon · 20/01/2024 17:51

The former.

Would you rather have to sew and knit all your own clothes in your free time, or only wear Juicy Couture tracksuits?

SmilingMoon · 20/01/2024 17:55

(that includes to the office, funerals, weddings etc)

SleepingStandingUp · 20/01/2024 18:07

I think a reasonable assessment of my skills means I'm gonna end up in the tracksuits.

Would you rather fly to the moon and help set up a colony for humans from scratch or remain in a spaceship for generations looking for somewhere new to live

I think I'd prefer being a space nomad. "It is better to travel hopefully than to arrive".

Would you rather have, at no cost to you:

A new car every three years for life. The car would be guaranteed to meet your needs in terms of space and features, but wouldn't be a flashy status car.

or

As a one-off, a no-expenses-spared new kitchen and bathroom, designed to your exact specifications.

(You are not allowed to sell either the car or the kitchen and take the cash value)

SmilingMoon · 20/01/2024 18:35

The kitchen and bathroom! I don't care much about cars.

Would you rather have to get everywhere by horseback, or get into a minor car accident once a month (no injuries but damage to vehicle)?
