Weird things your body does (not seen one of these threads for a while?)

Just in the shower once again counting how many tiny TINY little red dots have newly appeared on my boobs and arms and made me remember some of the past MN threads about weird shit the body does for no reason, especially the things that Google says = death imminent.

the ones that sound concerning have all been checked out and explained as "body can do strange but harmless things".

As above - I get random pin prick red dots mainly on my boobs and upper arms. They are so teeny if I didn't look for them id prob never notice. They aren't cherry angiomas, just dots like I've been jabbed by a needle 🤔

When I wake up in the morning if I go to touch my eye bag area even just slightly, no actual touching, i hear a whooshing in my ear on the same side

I get very slight beaus lines on all my nails for no reason whatsoever

If I get VERY stressed I sometimes get a splinter haemorrhage, always on the same nail, same place

I occasionally get slight purpura in the exact same place on my thigh. Nothing like googling "tiny bruises on leg no injury" to put the shits up you!

Angel by Thierry Mugler literally smells like BO on me. Perfumes with similar notes are fine, just something in that reacts to my....oils???

I have one random very straight thick ginger pube that just grows forever and I have to trim it. (not just one pube, just one ginger one)

I once had a cyst on my forehead and when I finally squeezed it cut it out with a scalpel from Amazon a shard of glass came out 🥴 do not recall having an accident!!

Anyone else have anything a bit weird? Or am I not that weird and others get stuff like this?? 😃

I get a histamine reaction to vibration on the skin, red blotchy and intense itch…discovered this when I bought a hand held back massager . Happens with extreme cold too!

I've read every post to see if anyone posted anything similar to me...

Whenever I yawn my right side lower jaw seems to click out of place - it's really painful and I have to massage it back into place.
Similarly my fingers lock several times a day. Again it's really painful but I can't massage it out, I have to wait it out. Seems to be triggered by certain ways I hold my hand - so holding a mug with a small handle, holding a piece of chalk, holding a potato peeler, flicking through sheets of paper.
Also, several times a week I get a really painful feeling around my mid-thigh, like someone tightening a belt round it. This lasts for 5 minutes to about an hour and I can't walk when it happens.
Finally (not sure if any of these are linked) when I wake up in the morning I have Barbie feet. Just like in the film, I can't physically put my heels on the floor, it takes a few seconds of painfully forcing my heels down before I can walk.

Anyone experienced similar?

Hmm; sort of. I used to dislocate my jaw yawning, being sick, laughing too much etc after my wisdom teeth extraction - from the jaw being clamped open when I was under general anaesthetic. This lasted for years but now it seems to be ok.

However, I get nerve pain (?) in my left ear often. It's intensely painful and painful to the touch. I have to do strange stretches to try to help it. I also sometimes get a jaw/muscle pain near where the root of my tongue attaches on that side. It makes it hard to eat/drink/talk. I finally asked my dentist who said tmj and not much you can do apart from pain killers. I think it's also related to my teeth grinding.

Anyway, sorry that was a long answer. But maybe you're hyper mobile and can dislocate some parts of your body?

tobee · 16/01/2024 02:15

That's interesting about the endo @LickYouLikeACrispPacket. Never thought of that

Habreathmint · 16/01/2024 02:52

I often get javelin arse and fanny daggers. I often get a stabbing pain in my left tit, which a lot of my friends get too. Also, when I insert a tampon, my lip curls up on one side like Elvis. I've done it in the mirror to check. It's very funny!

VioletPickles · 16/01/2024 03:41

I get itchy from the inside out. Mainly on my stomach, and no amount of scratching can sort it. So annoying!

WavingCatsandDogs · 16/01/2024 04:41

If anybody is injured on tv, especially falls or where people are thrown from an explosion, I feel it in my body, especially my legs.

I can't watch too much violence as I'm exhausted by the end!!

My daughter has it do. We both say ' ow, I felt that'

MrsHughesPinny · 16/01/2024 04:58

I feel so much better reading these!

Brain zaps after coming off anti-depressants (scared me out of my wits to start with), a lone fine white hair that grows rapidly in the middle of my chest and my jaw does an awful clunk on the right side every time I yawn.

Fascinated to learn about precordial catch, I used to get this often as a teen. I remember trying to describe it to my Mum and said it was like my lung had got caught on my rib! 😂 Now I have a name for it!

One that I never got to the bottom of though, they always used to lock us outside at lunch/break at school and we weren’t allowed to wear tights in Y7-9, only knee high white socks (this was the early 90s and girls weren’t allowed to wear trousers as part of school uniform, mental). If it was really cold I’d get the standard cold corned beef legs, but I’d also get these neon orange patches under the skin around my knees and on my thighs. I’ve never found out what that was but I only ever got them when extremely cold.

MrsFlibbleisverycross · 16/01/2024 06:22

Having had a folded ear is actually a good description of what the pain feels like. However, it’s not been folded. It can happen at 2pm at work - and I instantly know I’m getting ill.

VivienneDelacroix · 16/01/2024 01:12

Can't everyone? 🤔

Not anyone else I know!

Stackarack · 16/01/2024 06:46

I have multiple hairs that grow out of one follicle on my head. Sometimes if I catch my hair or brush, they become really sensitive. I get DH to tweeze them out and the relief is amazing. It’s called pilli multi something or other.

I also get red dots.

I also can’t see my pulse on my wrist.

justmewithmylifetoday · 16/01/2024 06:51

@lemonyfox I get this roo, on my tummy. They are very fine yet course, looks like a singular hair but then there's two when you pull them out, like a tiny feather.

justmewithmylifetoday · 16/01/2024 06:51

@lemonyfox *too!

Jifmicroliquid · 16/01/2024 07:00

I’m really curious about these feather hairs people have!

Another javelin arse sufferer here too.

Strong toothpaste makes the inside of my mouth peel off. It’s like a white, jelly substance.

I also seem to be very susceptible to getting dog hairs stuck in my foot and hands 😩 like my skin is just particularly shit and flimsy and holey

I used to get this ALL the time with my previous dog, a Dalmatian. His hairs were like little needles and they really hurt! Never happens with my current dog, a Labrador.

lemonyfox · 16/01/2024 07:13

@justmewithmylifetoday well I'm actually glad it's not just me, with you and all the other posters who also have the feather hairs!

And they pull out so easily and satisfyingly too, with no resistance....

Williaint · 16/01/2024 07:14

I want boob feathers too!!! i love picking/plucking at stuff 😔

Since having children I can’t sit on a bicycle seat. Even a gel cushion one. It feels like I’m sitting on broken glass, excruciating.

WhatAFoolishFool · 16/01/2024 07:20

@DopeyS thats Achenbach syndrome

HalebiHabibti · 16/01/2024 07:35

Me too ihavebecomecomfortablynumb! See my post and one other upthread :)

dressedforcomfort · 16/01/2024 07:51

I have one rogue eyebrow hair that always grows three times as long as the others and goes curly like a pigs tail. What's that about?

How many eyebrows do you have!?

ooooohnoooooo · 16/01/2024 08:06

I've got a single curly pubic hair that grows on my thigh just above my knee.

And if I eat runny eggs outside or in a draught they taste metallic. It means that if I have an outdoor breakfast I must have scrambled eggs 😬

lemonyfox · 15/01/2024 19:22

The end of my tongue always splits very slightly just before I get a cold.

I get these weird white hairs on my boobs which are a bit like feathers when I pluck them out. Like multiple tiny hairs in one go come out. I'm not explaining it very well but they're not normal hairs!

I also get these feather hairs lol

I think the posters talking about clear fluid leaking from their nose should get it checked out, I remember seeing a woman with that on a medical program and it was cerebral fluid that was leaking.
