Weird things your body does (not seen one of these threads for a while?)

Just in the shower once again counting how many tiny TINY little red dots have newly appeared on my boobs and arms and made me remember some of the past MN threads about weird shit the body does for no reason, especially the things that Google says = death imminent.

the ones that sound concerning have all been checked out and explained as "body can do strange but harmless things".

As above - I get random pin prick red dots mainly on my boobs and upper arms. They are so teeny if I didn't look for them id prob never notice. They aren't cherry angiomas, just dots like I've been jabbed by a needle 🤔

When I wake up in the morning if I go to touch my eye bag area even just slightly, no actual touching, i hear a whooshing in my ear on the same side

I get very slight beaus lines on all my nails for no reason whatsoever

If I get VERY stressed I sometimes get a splinter haemorrhage, always on the same nail, same place

I occasionally get slight purpura in the exact same place on my thigh. Nothing like googling "tiny bruises on leg no injury" to put the shits up you!

Angel by Thierry Mugler literally smells like BO on me. Perfumes with similar notes are fine, just something in that reacts to my....oils???

I have one random very straight thick ginger pube that just grows forever and I have to trim it. (not just one pube, just one ginger one)

I once had a cyst on my forehead and when I finally squeezed it cut it out with a scalpel from Amazon a shard of glass came out 🥴 do not recall having an accident!!

Anyone else have anything a bit weird? Or am I not that weird and others get stuff like this?? 😃

My hip does this weird thing like it dislocates? Excruciating pain and I can't move/talk/think and then it's gone and I'm fine as if it's just gone back into place

Paw2024 · 15/01/2024 23:39

Oh and I'm allergic to heat and exercise Hmm
(Cholinergic urticaria) and take a v expensive drug in order to be able to exercise/have a hot bath/wear a coat

merrymelodies · 15/01/2024 23:40

I have developed weird round brown patches on my upper arms. They're flat but go scaly if I scratch them. I think it's to do with sun exposure.

I'll randomly get the most excruciatingly painful shooting pain in my rib cage where I can hardly breath with out crying in pain it lasts for about 30 seconds to a minute but feels like a lifetime! Sometimes I won't get it for months but sometimes it will happen weekly. Google shows nothing!

Have you looked up precordial catch? I have this. Unbearable agony... For about 30 seconds.

Blomh · 15/01/2024 23:42

If I twiddle my nipples it makes my back teeth feel tickly.

Sometimes the back of my neck tingles really intensely and I have to shiver and shake my head to get rid of it

Since I was a small child I very occasionally get a really intense chest pain on inhaling. It feels like a stitch but in a really really tiny area. I have to take slow shallow breaths until it eases. Recently I read something on Wikipedia and realised it described my mystery chest pain: Precordial catch syndrome

Precordial catch is quite common! It's horrible though

shreddednips · 15/01/2024 23:42

Isn't the urge to poop in bookshops a recognised phenomenon? As soon as I walk into Waterstones the urge hits, luckily they have a loo.

My thighs itch when I exercise. I always assumed I had itchy fat for some reason and that exercising somehow disturbed my fat and made it itchy, but I imagine there's a more sensible explanation.

Roystonv · 15/01/2024 23:47

Dislocation hip thing here too, just the left one. Gleeking and very sensitive gag reflex also.

Moofart · 15/01/2024 23:48

I get a sudden cold sensation in my legs if I see someone hurt themselves. I also get Alice in Wonderland syndrome which can be so tippy. Feel like I've shrink to a tiny dot or grown massively, it's very bizarre and makes me feel dizzy when it happens. I sometimes see throbbing behind my eyes when I do a poo and my nose goes red when I'm thirsty, it's normally the first clue that I need to drink..God I'm weird :D

Moofart · 15/01/2024 23:49

Yes to the poo urge in bookshops too. Its very annoying

I had a shooting pain in my bum earlier and it’s a real medical thing to do with your pelvic floor. Googled it and blew my mind 🤣

“Just as spasms of neck muscles cause headaches, spasms of the pelvic muscles causes proctalgia. Proctalgia is pain due to a spasm of the pelvic floor muscles, the muscles of the anal sphincter, or the muscles of the rectum. This causes severe stabbing pain like a knife sticking into the rectum.”

MN have a name for this bum jaggers or something? Posters have whole conversations about it.

Mirabai · 15/01/2024 23:57

I don’t think I have anything very exciting. I’m hyper mobile so I can still do the splits at 53.

My tongue is very long and I can easily touch my nose with it. I was a bit astonished to find that this is not universal and some people’s tongues are really short. (How do they catch flies?)

When l vomiti, I get a sharp pain in the back of my right arm from armpit to elbow. Always the right arm and always in the same place. No explanation Hmm

When I have a uti, when it feels like my whole body is trying to force out the urine, I get the pain in the back of my right arm too, very very weird!

Maighnuad · 16/01/2024 00:27

I sleep walk and sleep text. Which led to some issues T work when on call. 🤣😀

ihavebecomecomfortablynumb · 16/01/2024 00:33

I have the ear whooshing thing when I clench my jaw, I always thought it was associated with tinnitus as I have that constantly. I also feel a really tingly, strange sensation, usually in my back or ribs if I scratch myself in certain places on my arms. I also sneeze multiple times after eating, literally for about 3-5 minutes I sneeze dozens of times. Bizarrely (and probably the strangest of all these things) I always need to go for a shit whenever I go to Costco. 🤣

UnctuousUnicorns · 16/01/2024 00:35

Lately, in the cold, my middle finger ( always on the left hand first, then sometimes on the right) turns yellowy white. I know it's happened before I look at it, as it feels stiff and numb. That's when I know it's fucking freezing. Kinda like my personal, in-house barometer.

Javelin Arse?

ihavebecomecomfortablynumb · 16/01/2024 00:41

Oh, just remembered something else (my daughter thinks this is scary and serious but it’s happened to me for years) sometimes when I bend over I get a very thin, clear fluid that runs from my nostrils, literally drips and drips like a tap. It’s not associated with having a runny nose or a cold and it’s very watery, not snotty at all. No idea what that’s all about.

FancyJapflack · 16/01/2024 00:44

I need a wee really frequently in the hours before a migraine.

i can cause a sort of momentary “tingling” all over my body but I couldn’t tell you how I do it.

ASMR! (Not the same as above though)

Onlyhereforthebatshitneighbours · 15/01/2024 20:25

If I'm doing physical activity that needs me to bend from the waist (like gardening - get your minds out the gutters) I sometimes get what feels like muscle burn behind my ears and in my scalp. It's really horrible

I get this too! Tried explaining it to dh before but he didn't get it

I can watch my pulse in my wrist.

Can't everyone? 🤔

VivienneDelacroix · 16/01/2024 01:21

I've read every post to see if anyone posted anything similar to me...

Whenever I yawn my right side lower jaw seems to click out of place - it's really painful and I have to massage it back into place.
Similarly my fingers lock several times a day. Again it's really painful but I can't massage it out, I have to wait it out. Seems to be triggered by certain ways I hold my hand - so holding a mug with a small handle, holding a piece of chalk, holding a potato peeler, flicking through sheets of paper.
Also, several times a week I get a really painful feeling around my mid-thigh, like someone tightening a belt round it. This lasts for 5 minutes to about an hour and I can't walk when it happens.
Finally (not sure if any of these are linked) when I wake up in the morning I have Barbie feet. Just like in the film, I can't physically put my heels on the floor, it takes a few seconds of painfully forcing my heels down before I can walk.

Anyone experienced similar?
