2 landing attempts and still not down.

I think it's windy there

No clue on emergency vehicles but that was a very snap change from on track to Alicante to immediately descending into Paris

Jewelanemone · 13/01/2024 16:40

Norwegian flight looks like it's changing direction a bit, maybe going to Orly?

mighteeaphroditee · 13/01/2024 16:44

Approach is from the east at CDG. Probably heading past to turn back.

@RainbowZebraWarrior Sorry it's on dps phone, certainly puts me off holidaying there!

Looks like that's what's happening. Losing height now.

Changes pages.....and

From where it is now they can go Right hand pattern for Orly or Left hand for Roissy...(CDG)

Ah yes, that makes sense given what all the other planes are doing!

cakeorwine · 13/01/2024 16:45

PXO is off to Tenerife?
EasyJet is off somewhere...

And this is why I like the ferry across the Channel.

Intrigued as to why the 2 flights who have seemingly abandoned Funchal are not returning to their departure airports? Wonder where they are going?

soupmaker · 13/01/2024 16:48

Right. I'm off. Curry needs made. I could spend all day on FR.

EwwSprouts · 13/01/2024 16:48

Hard left from Norwegian. Get me with my jargon!

YummyCookie · 13/01/2024 16:49

The eastjet Tenerife to Funchal was the one from earlier on today that was divert from LGW. Maybe heading back there

What a way to spend a few days...

Where do I see the most watched on the app? I've found how to turn squawk alert on

Omg you'll never get a minute's peace! 7600s are so frequent. And 7700s are pretty darn common too, they're declared when there is something that requires pilots to be given some space and time to pay attention to a potential problem. There's a sort of precautionary element to them. Which is good management clearly, you don't wait until there's a glaringly obvious, dangerous problem to alert ATC. Anyway, yes, be prepared for your phone to ping constantly.

I would have wanted to get off in Tenerife.

Imagine how raging you'd be if you end up back in Blighty after all that.

Those passengers were diverted first to Tenerife then sent back to Gatwick? Oh my! That's a bad day of travelling.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2024 16:55

So the Norwegian plane is nearly down. Stupid question. Will we ever find out why it was diverted?

Jewelanemone · 13/01/2024 16:56

Norway's landed. Hope they're ok.

sloemum · 13/01/2024 16:57

Looked like a smooth landing/decent. Presume it was relatively minor

Only if a passenger shares or if a plane nerd puts it on an aviation site. Most of the ones I've read are medical emergency. Followed by crew smelling smoke or pressurisation issue. It's rarely dramatic (from the layperson POV). Which is good, means crew have acted well.

whatausername · 13/01/2024 17:04

I'm watching E545 to see if it'll land. Calgary has had huge disruptions for days and it's back on top of the most disrupted airport list on FR

whatausername · 13/01/2024 17:05

That's some very neat and tidy flying!

Joining in...with an eye on the Iberia from Madrid ploughing its way towards Funchal. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
