Can't sleep- feeling poorly

Can anyone take my mind off the fact I'm poorly and can't sleep! I have seen every hour!

Not sure if it's flu or covid (gonna get covid test today)

Why is anyone else up?

Up because I watched the Andrew Tate thing on channel 4 and it's made me so angry!!🤭🤭

I'm up because my DS (6) fell (threw himself) off the couch earlier this evening and gave himself a concussion. He got very sleepy and started vomiting so we spent 4hrs at a&e tonight getting checked out. He's fine and in bed with me but I set an alarm to check him and now cannot get back to sleep. I hope you get some sleep and feel better soon!

Thank you, I'm fully clothed, with duvet and heated blanket and I'm still cold. Temperature was 39.7 last I checked.

It's come on so quick, I had slight cough when I woke up and gradually got worse as the day went on! Head is pounding too, and chest is sore!

@ClarkGriswold I hope hr feels better soon, I have 2 young children so horrible when they are poorly!

Please take the heated blanket off !

Have you taken paracetamol?

I'm awake as I’m in the middle of sorting a divorce and sent my ex an email yesterday evening that he won’t like. Dreading his reply. I don’t miss him (he had an affair) and he is starting to get nasty about a few financial things , which I suspect will ramp up after my email, and I just feel sick about it all.

Yes taken paracetamol and ibuprofen! I have gone into the lounge now as I think husband was getting annoyed at me tossing and turning!

I'm up because my 10 week old is wide awake and I'm trying to find the right poem to read out at my dad's funeral.

You sound exactly like me, tested positive for Covid Weds afternoon after being out Weds morning and feeling totally fine. Got home, developed cough, temp and shortness of breath out of nowhere. Hope you feel better soon. P.S. insomnia is very common with Covid, hence me being awake

@Lavendercoco I wouldn't be surprised if is covid, as I feel sick and have been sick every time I have covid, I also work in a hospital so while I do everything necessary to stop me from catching it, I knew at some point I would get it!

I'm in hospital with pneumonia. Managed to nod off but then had major coughing fit so now awake feeling 🤢.

@Mammyloveswine I hope you feel better soon! I had covid last year and ended up on oxygen with a chest infection after!

Pneumonia is not a nice illness!

I've been throwing up every 30 minutes for the last 3 hours.. stupid gastro... I'm supposed to be going back to work tomorrow after the Christmas break!

I’m awake with same bug. Test says not Covid, feeling utterly crappy, the cough is a nightmare.

Thank you for all keeping me company! Still very rough, saw every hour and have slept since, also been sick since which is brilliant, hopefully I will sleep better tonight.

Awake again! I'm defo debating a doctors appointment this morning, very unsure if it's flu or a chest infection!

Poor you OP, definitely make an appt just to rule out the need for antibiotics. Lots of people seem to be ill with the same thing.

I'm up because my 3yo is waking regularly at the moment since moving into a toddler bed. Think I've finally resettled her but doubt it will the last time I see her face before morning 🫣

I'm with you OP, I'm on night five of no sleep with an awful cold that seems to be getting worse. Not sure if I should be seeing a Dr yet. I feel demented from lack of sleep. I am managing two hours in the morning at present 😫

Sorry to hear you've been sick, I don't think that's a normal cold symptom? I would go and see a Dr if you can. Hope you get some rest

Sorry OP hope you feel better soon! Im awake as my 4yr old has what looks like slapped cheek which is hot to touch and I have a cold. Ive been off a couple of weeks with a bereavement and due back at work and now this. Just want to be happy and healthy again.

Another one with a stinking cold. The sore throat and headache has gone but the cough continues and I literally have tissues stuffed up my nose for the waterfall snot. Back to work later...

How's everyone tonight? Have you come out of the other side yet? My nostrils are like Niagara Falls and I have to go into the office tomorrow to onboard a new member of staff. Wish I could WFH in my trackies.
