And reasonably gripping to appease my minimal attention span. Open.to suggestions, like documentaries, true crime, gritty drama. But also other stuff.

Society of the snow
Movie on Netflix, just out.

Based on a true story of a plane crash in 1972.

Yes, we’re in the middle of Fool me Once. It’s very good so far.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 06/01/2024 22:38

Good grief is next on my list.

BigBoysDontCry · 06/01/2024 22:41

Godless mini series.

MargaritaThyme · 06/01/2024 22:42

The Crown.

Yes, really.

I was sceptical, but DP wanted to watch it, so we gave it a go. The wonderful performances & incredible production values won me over. Some episodes, eg Vergangenheit in S2 & Aberfan in S3 are just astonishingly good. I have watched Seasons 1-5, and recommend them, but bear in mind that you’re watching entertainment, not history.

By all accounts the final season 6 which features (spoiler alert) Diana’s death is awful, though, so I might give that a miss.

MarilynBoo · 06/01/2024 22:44

If you like comedy then I highly recommend Brooklyn 99.

Vallmo47 · 06/01/2024 22:44

A nearly normal family.
Scandinavian crime dramas in general.

Yeah series 6 was a bit naff but you’ve kind of got to see it though so I stuck with it!

Just finished Society of the Snow - thoroughly recommend. Harrowing to watch though.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 06/01/2024 22:51

I'm midway through S6 of The Crown. Struggling a bit with seeing the royals as I "know" them. Much preferred the years that I knew less about.

I did enjoy A nearly normal family.

I had given up on this half way through episode 1 then decided to watch it to the end of the episode at least and yup now I'm hooked

Switcher · 06/01/2024 22:57

Blue eyed samurai - I don't watch anime but was totally gripped. Obliterated - hilarious Vegas action comedy. Lupin - French crime thriller.

I never saw alive. It is the same story according to Google but a different way of showing it. Some screenshots from online
