What boring and mundane tasks do you enjoy

I love doing the washing (not ironing).

I enjoy seeing it in the machine and drying on the line.

It's really "my thing" and I take a lot of care with it, or sorting colours etc.

I'm also fussy with making sure my whites stay white (and seeing my kids in lovely white school shirts)!

I like trying out fabric softeners and colour catcher sheets etc. I live the smell of fabric softener too!

I recently went into the launderette to try some towels as my tumble dryer stopped working. I got envious of the woman who worked in there doing service washes!!!!!!!!

I really need to get a life!

Hoovering. I love hearing the crackle as crumbs get sucked up

Cleaning windows with a good quality spray and different sized squeegees. Excellent effort/reward ratio. Makes the house feel sparkly !

I love love love folding clothes. I never iron anything but have really good folding skills.

I love filling the dishwasher like a super pro. There's an art to doing it properly.

Disneydatknee88 · 14/06/2024 00:16

I love a good de clutter. Every so often I will go through my wardrobe, various drawers etc and either get rid or organise stuff properly. I also love lists. My favourite part of the week is the meal plan and shopping list. You know how people window shop? I will window plan things if I'm bored. Holidays I will never go on etc. I reckon I'd have made a great event planner in another life lol.

Agree, @SkiingIsHeaven

What are the two dishwasher filler types again - raccoons on meth vs. Scandinavian architects?

I'm the latter.

Any tips for actually not minding the meal plan? I hate it 🤣

You could do the 'don't meal plan' style, which is my preference.
You just keep a running baseline of versatile and useful ingredients in stock, and every day just cook whatever you fancy and is possible - like a daily Ready Steady Cook. 😁

I do this and it works well, if I run out of something it doesn't matter, I don't think about food until I'm ready to cook and decide on the spot (this suits me but wouldn't everybody, my sister finds it horrifying, she likes to spend Sunday evening napping out her week menu, which I find horrifying 🤣) and never find myself cooking something I don't fancy cos I thought I'd be in the mood on Sunday but now on Thursday I'm not. 🙃

I properly laughed at this. 😁

Brilliant 😂. After the complaints about last nights meal which was salmon risotto. (DH liked it but it wasn’t his favourite DD 11 didn’t and had a sandwich) I feel like just telling everyone to eat whatever they like. I’m doing slimming world anyway.
