What boring and mundane tasks do you enjoy

I love doing the washing (not ironing).

I enjoy seeing it in the machine and drying on the line.

It's really "my thing" and I take a lot of care with it, or sorting colours etc.

I'm also fussy with making sure my whites stay white (and seeing my kids in lovely white school shirts)!

I like trying out fabric softeners and colour catcher sheets etc. I live the smell of fabric softener too!

I recently went into the launderette to try some towels as my tumble dryer stopped working. I got envious of the woman who worked in there doing service washes!!!!!!!!

I really need to get a life!

Ironing. If I can get a can of spray starch involved I am happy as a pig in shit.

I like washing, hanging it out one the line and ironing. I love it in the summer when you can wash, line dry and iron in one day and have a pile of freshly laundered bedding and clothing. I also love cooking.

Mowing the grass, I'd happily do everyone's in the road. Unfortunately DH also likes doing it so there's sometimes a scrabble to do it first. We have three lawns so occasionally compromise with two for me and one for him.

Pegging up the washing, especially outside on a nice day. Ironing is DHs job, he'll watch something on the telly.

Scrubbing the kitchen floor. I don't want any fancy mops, give me a bucket of hot soapy water and a scrubbing brush and I'm happy.

Hoovering. I love hoovering.

Don’t mind ironing as long as I can watch the telly.

I also love doing the washing! I just bought a new laundry basket and feel really happy 😆

Emptying the dishwasher as I have a particular way of putting things back.

I quite like emptying the dishwasher. Putting everything away each morning all ship shape. I make DH load it at night though!

Washing up. Earbuds in, podcast on, it's satisfying to work through it all. I've never had a dishwasher and I really think I'd miss washing up! But laundry of all kinds is just dull for me and I have genuinely never ironed anything in my life...

I do enjoy turning the laundry basket of clean clothes over to dump it on DC's bed for them to sort out and put away. Particularly when it's overfull with 3 clean loads. Don't iron.

Filing hard copies at work (nobody else bothers!), getting all the washing done, dried and put away...if I could bring this level of interest and commitment to everything in my life I'd be unstoppable 🤣

Oh i'm the same re the washing! I love fabric softener and have about 4 different ones on the go at any one time.

I also love de-cluttering. So either work in a laundry or have Marie Kondo job would be great...😅

I enjoy washing up and cleaning other peoples houses but not my own 🤣

Same here and I adore my fridge organisers I thought I was tragic

I love watering the garden in the summer or any periods we've not had much rain. I have a water butt to collect rainwater and just like the repetition of filling the watering can and giving my plants a drink.

I also love organising the shelves of the fridge or food cupboard to get everything sorted e.g fruit and veg one on shelf, dairy on another, meat on another etc. DH and DDs mess up my system but I don't even mind that because it means I get to organise it again!

Absolutely none of it!!

I don't know if this counts as housework,but I quite enjoy sorting out paperwork. I find it quite satisfying putting it through the shredder and seeing the pile get smaller.

@TheBestSpoon, I like washing up too. But finding the most effective method and routine for stacking/emptying a dishwasher is also very pleasing. As is basic maintenance such as more salt / rinse aid / cleaning filter. I don’t have one at the mo but enjoy using other people’s!

I love washing and ironing.
I don't mind cleaning the bathroom either as it smells so fresh afterwards and I like looking at the shiny taps.

Hate hoovering and dusting.

I like cooking the evening meal, which is lucky since I do it almost every day - DH would step in more often but I prefer to do it myself 🤣.

I like it as people generally leave me alone while I do it, so I can get in the zone, do the physical task so my hands are busy but I don't have to think too hard as I'm experienced so I can put on a good podcast and enjoy creating something which I'm looking forward to eating (I enjoy my food), so it's a nice time I'm having. ☺️

My dog is obsessed with anything washing related. When she sees you with an armful of washing she squeals with excitement, and runs to the machine where she will watch you load, turn it on and will watch the machine go round. when it finishes, she squeals again and tries to help you unload it and put it on the line/clothes horse. She also watches the tumble dryer-why is beyond me, there's nothing to see. She'd be in 7th heaven at your house!
