Which one of these would you choose? (Decor)

i am looking at wall murals and I’m not sure I’m brave enough. It’s for a 3m wall in our shared playroom/ living room space, the room is sort of divided into 2 and I’d like to demarcate/ “zone” the play area a bit but not with anything too childish as it’s our only living space. I would have to look at it every time I walk through the door but not when sat on the sofa.

or are they both awful and any other ideas ? 😅 I know other companies do more variety but they tend to be 2-3 x the price

Interesting people think they are depressing. Why if I can ask? I do get they won’t be everyone’s taste but just wasn’t sure what made them depressing. Is it because people are used to brighter colours? The wall is currently stone/ beige and we have some green but I’m not really into bright colours with this house. It’s quite neutral currently and I want to keep it neutral.

I absolutely love that first rainforest one. Come to think of it, that would look lovely in my dining room. But then I am a tree nut, as you can tell by my username!

@bendypines i also love trees! We can’t afford to move house now so stuck here but I long for somewhere with tall established trees in the garden. I could just stare up at the branches.

Hope I'm not going to regret posting this, but I don't think it is dark and depressing at all. I find it calming and tranquil in my bedroom.

If you’re not sure what would work, look on Amazon for ‘tapestry wall hanging’. Cheap (mostly £25 or less) and cheerful but would let you try the basic colours and see if they work for you before going to the cost and effort of adding to the wall. Also, if you want to mark out the area, there’s stick on decals which would do the same.

This has a lightness to it. I think it's because the leaves hang down from the top, so the design doesn't clash with the furniture.

First one. Trees in any form make life better and with a mural of a forest you can have a meditative moment just looking at it.

My friend did a black and white marvel comic type one in the playroom. Rainforest in one childs bedroom, pirate type in another. They looked great. Very easy to put up.

Neither is at all cosy or happy. I'd be in the depths of despair after sitting looking at either of those for a week.

Although it looks much nicer in the brighter colourway but I can see it wouldn't work for OP if blue isn't her thing.

I love trees but wouldn't want rainforest but British woodland.

I like the second one, reminds me of Bodmin Moor and Yorkshire moors

At the risk of sounding ridiculous here...what's the difference between these and wallpaper? If it's paper, on a roll, requiring paste...isn't it just wallpaper?

It is all about how it makes you feel though. It's an individual choice, not one to make by committee. I don't think the rainforest one is depressing at all, but there's something about the angle or perspective that bothers me, and the sky looks quite yellow on my phone.

But the rolls make one big picture, rather than a smaller repeating pattern, the same on each roll.
