Anyone have Insomnia before going back to work tomorrow?to work

I'm still awake again.
Slept beautifully all last week.
Now it looks like no sleep again as I have work tomorrow. Normally get the Sunday night jitters. Then sleep badly all week.
I've taken magnesium, had a bath
Am I doomed to spend all my working life with little sleep?!
Anyone else awake?

Boss managed to send an anxiety inducing email at 5pm for me to go to sleep on....see you all at 3am for an anxiety attack! 🙋‍♀️

I actually had a quiet day as most people were still off. Loads of work to do but I couldn't face it. I'll do it tonight if I can't sleep again.
Here's to getting a better sleep tonight!

Me! Had a panic inducing phone call at 9pm last night which was the last thing I needed then struggled to fall asleep and woke at 3am to have another panic!

My day was worse than I anticipated but we did well and we all survived. Just didn’t get a lot of my own work done, just fire fighting so more work piled up for tomorrow🤪

Oh God, me last night! There was just no sleep in me. I remember checking the time and it was 5.30am but I must have gone to sleep at some time after that.

Was woken by the phone ringing at 8.20am - it was dh checking I was up. Um nope. And I start work at 8am 😱 but luckily wfh today.

Raced downstairs half asleep and logged into the system 25 minutes late...luckily no one had noticed I was MIA so I wandered away again for a coffee 😂

Sorry to hear that! Redundancies?

I take a sleeping pill on the last night before going back to work. I hate going back after a holiday not having slept

I'm glad you got through it today OP, I also didn't sleep last night, just tossed and turned and kept checking my alarm every hour or so. Plus it was pitch black outside when I was getting up...so miserable.

I was raging that I hadn't booked an extra day off just to ease back into the new year, the roads were quiet going in so loads of people must have had the right idea. Like you my day was actually pretty quiet but it was hell getting up this morning. I felt like a petulant child being made get up for school, I kept thinking 'it's not fair'...

I hope everyone sleeps better tonight. I also recommend a meditation or something before bed, they really help.

Here i am! Yes, sort of. It's just me, I'm a department of one and basically being 'quiet fired'. I've done nothing wrong but they dont need me anymore and wont do proper redundancy (theyve handled everything reeeeeally badly so far) Yesterday was another blatant attempt to get me to hand my notice in. I want to leave asap but can only move as fast as the people hiring!

I woke up about an hour ago so will watch a film and get a cup of tea.

At least it's not raining (at present...)

Ugh third night in a row and no sleep. Feeling a bit spacey.

Stressedgiraffe · 04/01/2024 04:28

Good (early) morning to those awake!
I did sleep from 11-4 so actually feel OK. I've got a meeting packed day and loads of prep to do so I'm about to start work.

Sometimes I hate my job I've too many meetings and no time to do the work so I either can't sleep for worry or purposely wake early to get the work part done which is crap.

3rd night for me too 😡 , i think its linked to lack of alcohol 😳

Petrie99 · 04/01/2024 06:58

I'm due to return to work from maternity leave this month and haven't slept well since NYE. I don't enjoy my job and the insomnia is related to that alongside worries about nursery settling in. I find one of those audio bedtime stories helps or reading rather than blue light before sleep. Doesn't help that the baby wakes in the night too.
