Yes I know I'm probably boring lots of people. But my threads keep me motivated. Amd it's turned from very negative to positive. So I feel its definitely helping.

Anyway these are pictures of my room . It was taken several weeks back my bed now faces the large window. Apart from that it's pretty much the same

I do not want a hanging wardrobe. Although I would not mind one that has shelving /drawers.

Decorating wise I think I would like wallpaper possibly a feature wall? But I'm not sure what wall I would have it on. I don't know what colours I want at all . Definitely no dark colours.

Oh also I only sleep in my room . I don't chill In there or anything.

I feel very on edge tonight because of other stuff, so I want to try and keep this positive so i can distance myself from it a bit.

Have you got any idea about colour or style? I am always hopelessly indecisive.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 01/01/2024 19:22

Hi op that's a huge massive room!

Rugs and shelves either on wall or those units you can move around.
Mirrors and pictures

hopeishere · 01/01/2024 19:24

What a gorgeous bright room! Good move shifting the bed. Massive rug to go under the bed.

Those window ledges are crying out for tons of plants (fake if you kill stuff!).

I always find lots of greenery brings peace to a room. Lovely for the bedroom!

I don't think I want to add shelves to the wall. But even if I get shelves what do I put on them ? Definitely no mirror. Yes possible rug to break the floor up a bit

I love it how it is, I wouldn't decorate. A rug to pick up the gorgeous colour of the curtains. And maybe some new bed linen and fluffy cushions. Couple of pictures and a full length mirror.

Doggymummar · 01/01/2024 19:43

And a lampshade and some bedside tables and lamps

Username123343 · 01/01/2024 19:43

What amazing big windows - I’d be tempted to make a feature by having fitted blinds - the ones that fit into the window frames (think they’re called perfect fit? Anyway they’re expensive so maybe just floaty white curtains.

I second the plant idea too xx

Good luck - you did an AMAZING job on your boys’ room so it’s lovely you’re giving your own space the same TLC.

berksandbeyond · 01/01/2024 19:43

What a lovely big bright room. Could you have a browse on Pinterest and see if you see any bedrooms there that you like?

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/01/2024 19:45

Are you keeping the curtains? If so, that’s a starting point colour-wise….
You definitely need to add texture with a rug, cushions, throws.

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/01/2024 19:46

And yes to lighting- maybe a floor lamp, or table lamps? What’s the light fixture like?

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 01/01/2024 19:49

Dress the shelves, put books, ornaments, pictures, plants on them.

Why no mirror... Mirrors generally give rooms life and soul....

It depends esp in bedrooms some people like them plain and calming.i prefer to have things my eye can fall on..

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 01/01/2024 19:50

Also you could have some privacy prints on glass which looks pretty for decoration as well

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/01/2024 19:53

So, I’d probably sew some toning fabric in a muted colour to the bottom of the curtains to make them floor length. Get a textured rug to match, plus throws and cushion. Pick out a shade for the ceiling light, and either a floor lamp by your bed or bedside tables with lamps. Keep the walls neutral. Add plants (fake is fine, or succulents are hard to kill!) Possibly hang a big picture over the bed and another over the drawers- a landscape or similar maybe? I’d pick a colour palette to complement the colour scheme, but I’m a heathen in art terms!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 01/01/2024 19:53

Bedside tables, lamptl/rug/bedding to complement the curtains.

OldTinHat · 01/01/2024 19:54

Fabulous sized room! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

To be honest that was also going through my head . I did wounder about leaving it white but adding things

I’d try to find a very tall tallboy for the gap between your windows. I’d also move the bed so it’s opposite the large set of windows, find a nice chest of drawers for the big gap next to the radiator. Dark blue/green patterned feature wall and some emerald curtains.

No mirror because I don't want to see myself.

Yeah im not sure I'm very torn leaving it plain does not give me a challenge or anything to aim for but it also makes sense because it leaves it bright

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 01/01/2024 19:59

I don't have mirrors to see myself either 😂... It's to reflect lights and room.. Where I'm sitting in my room now I can see all parts of the room and grogeous things reflected everywhere..

MNSlapperTwot · 01/01/2024 20:01

I would move the bed so it’s still facing the window, but the headboard is against the wall with the door. Then you can get fully around the bed. Having it pushed against the wall makes is look like a student bedroom and you have the space for it to be more central.

I might get bedside tables with a lamp

Ceiling fixture is OK ad far as I know. I have never touched it to be honest
