Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The boiler and fridge are humming away & the washer's on already but there's no other noise - bliss 😊

We don't really have any plans for today - we did a big clean between us yesterday & the only thing not done was hoover upstairs and the stairs themselves so I'll do that later on, when everyone's up.

My plan for the day is to continue the crochet dachshund (only need to make feet & tail now), and painting peg people. I'll probably read some more of my new book, or solve a couple more Murdle murders while coats of paint dry.

Both girls have homework so I'll suggest they at least look at it, and see what needs to be done, even if they don't start it today.

Tea will likely be something fairly quick and easy, followed by whatever treats are still about and then a nice early shower before chilling in front of the tv. I need to file my nails & might paint them if I can be bothered by then, if not, I might stick some nail wraps instead.

Good morning Lucysmam and other. I like the sound of the dachshund. I did most of the shopping, washings and housework yesterday so today will be fairly easy. I have bedding to change, floors to clean and a small ironing. I'm going to make lentil soup in the slow cooker which will feed me for days. It's a nice day out so I might go for a walk. A gentle day. Enjoy your day

Staying with friends so will have a lazy morning with a late breakfast. Might have a walk or pop into town to look round shops. Meal out at a tapas place this evening and maybe a glass of fizz if we manage to stay up till Midnight. Last lazy day before going home tomorrow and DH back to work Tuesday.

Another quick clean this morning, get DS and dog to park if the weather holds, shopping for snacks tonight. Then we have friends and kids coming round early doors for pizza and fizz, but they should be gone by 9pm. Then Hootenany and try to stay awake for 12pm.

Good morning @lucysmam . We haven't got anything planned for today as yet, but I think we may clean out a few of the kitchen drawers (trying to sort it out a bit at a time) and I may do some more of my Lego bouquet while DH does his Christmas jigsaw puzzle. There is a wash to put on, and I need to have a little walk at some time, so maybe down to the postbox and back.
I'm trying to get a (very) little exercise each day as I have been quite unwell over the past 6 months, getting better now and due to start back at work on Tuesday! Phased return, so only a few hours, before a hospital appointment.

DH and DS2 have gone to the football, they've just left and won't be back until 6.30ish. DS1 is gaming in bed, he'll surface for food no doubt.

We have got friends coming over later, so I need to finish cleaning (kitchen, hoover everywhere and tidy the last bits up). Quite pleased to be left to get on with this in peace, DH has a habit of pointing out what else needs doing while I'm in the middle of doing something else and it's really annoying. Yesterday was hard work. I don't think I sat down until 10pm and even then he was listing things to be done today. Gah!

Then I'm going over to see my parents as my auntie is visiting them for NYE and I said I'd pop over for a cuppa around lunchtime.

I need to go to the supermarket to get some bits for tonight and general essentials - we are running low on toilet paper and soap, among other things.

I've got a few people coming this afternoon to pick up things I've freecycled locally.

I need to get a chilli in the slow cooker for dinner, so it's ready for when DH and DS1 get home and friends come over.

Then hopefully a chilled evening, see in the new year and have a chilled out day tomorrow!

Morning lucysmam & everyone. Still in bed but getting up soon. Need to pop to Lidl for champagne which beat Moet in a taste test, then to Tescos for a top up shop. Keep forgetting about my Clubcard vouchers as they’re not sent by post anymore. Working this afternoon unfortunately. Just DH & me tonight. We’re having sirloin steak, chips, petitpois & garlic mushrooms. Might buy a bottle of red to drink with it ( rarely have red wine). Probably watch a film then the fireworks if we can stay awake! DH will bring the bunnies indoors late afternoon.

I was up early, showered and dressed, finished putting the shopping away that came yesterday afternoon and now just finishing my breakfast whilst DP fires up the coffee machine (weird thing is I don’t like coffee from the machine but love the smell of it).

I was going to go for a walk along the river this morning but the weather forecast is rain so think I’ll stay home and read my book. I picked up a joint of pork in M&S yesterday so we’re having that for dinner tonight so I’ll be cooking this afternoon.

This evening I’m going to sit down with a glass of baileys and watch Death in Paradise from Boxing Day and then bed about 11. I’m not a fan of NYE so happy to ignore it.

Tomorrow morning will be a lovely cooked breakfast and then putting the decs away and cleaning the house.
And then that’s it over with for another year.

Just having coffee and mulling how little I can do today!

DH and I are both at the tail end of a cold and feeling a bit drained after a weird Christmas with my DMum in hospital. (Thankfully she’s home now and doing ok).

We will take the decorations down at some point and I have some clean washing to put away.

Other than that I will walk the dog when there is a gap in the rain and the rest of the day will be spent reading.

Just got out of the shower after clipping 2 horses and putting my clothes in the wash.
Bloody clippers ran out of charge on the 2nd horse so he currently still has a hairy bum! Will have to finish tomorrow which is an utter ball ache.
Sat with coffee drawing up show schedule for the year and trying to work out a fitness plan for horse that won't also kill me!
Off to parents for dinner so another chilled day with lots of random naps on sofa. Trying not to think about back to work on Tuesday, get a headache every time I think about it.

I'm clock watching because I intend to go yellow sticker hunting at M&S this afternoon. Can't wait! First time I'll have left the house and seen people in almost two weeks.

I'm going out for coffee in about fifteen minutes then off to M&S to see if there are any bargains to be had. Need to cook a lasagne and do some washing up this afternoon. Laundry is already drying. Quick drinky-poo at pub early evening then home for said lasagne and garlic mushrooms. Staying home tonight and expecting to be woken by fireworks at midnight 🙁.

lying in bed. Made a start taking down decorations (santas etc .. will leave garlands and tree up). Going to pull out sofas and wash behind. Have lunch done (leftovers) and we are going to a local castle hotel for tea !!! So looking forward to that very much
when we come home we will light some sparklers in the garden and put on the fire pit

We accidentally invited 40 people to come over this evening, so I’m a bit busy. Or I will be when I stop rocking in a corner and pretending it isn’t happening. FML.

Morning @lucysmam! I'm still lazing in bed. DH has just bought me breakfast in bed so I don't plan on moving just yet.
When I do shift I need to put a load of washing on, go to pets at home and then try to sort my office out before next week. My desk is currently covered in chocolates, a Christmas cake and various bottles of alcohol.
Steak and chips tonight and probably go to bed early and watch rubbish tv. Will be a miracle if I see midnight

We've had a chilled morning so far. 2 of 3 dc haven't been feeling well but are much better this morning. They are both drawing while oldest is playing cards with dh.

I'm going out with a friend later this afternoon to the theatre, will be home by dinner time but trying to decide what to have. Before I leave I have washing to sort, a quick declutter of the shelves in the kitchen that becomes a dumping ground and also going to hop in the shower and wash my hair.

We’re having a really slow morning. DS is watching a film and DH is gaming while I chill on the sofa waiting for my painkillers to kick in and sort out my back pain. Then I’ll be getting up, pottering around a bit and getting ready for the day.

We’re off to the pub to meet friends for lunch and drinks and we have a babysitter sorted, so that’s a treat! Then back home later for nice bubbly and food. We’re having a chilled evening but love New Year so we’ll be staying up late.

We've had a pottering morning, sorting out the recycling, doing some laundry, nothing exciting 😂

This afternoon we are going for a walk in the woods. It's raining of course but should be quite sheltered under the trees. I'll take a flask of hot chocolate and some biscuits for us all.

Hot dogs for dinner when we get home then will get the little ones to bed. Once they are asleep DH and I and the teens are getting a small Chinese takeaway to eat while we play board games (teens request). Will see in midnight then head to bed!

Currently in A&E with DD. Hopefully not for much longer though. DH is working, and I had big plans for a quiet day.

Oh well...

Morning all. Was all set to go for a run this morning but the wind kept me awake half the night so had a lie in.
Quick trip to the supermarket to pick up something for dinner later. Off to the cinema and a quiet night in planned.

Hope it's nothing too serious

Nothing serious thankfully, but a recurring issue, 111 sent us here, rather than OOH, but it's definitely not the peaceful NYE I was hoping for.

Home from Sainsburys and from walking the dog who is now fast asleep within 10 seconds of getting on the sofa.

DH is cooking roast beef and DD is upstairs sulking because she hates roast dinner 😮

I have just booked all our holidays for 2024 and now intend on rotating between sitting and laying on the sofa until said 2024

I used to always think "what is @lucysmam kitchen spot? I wish I had a comfy kitchen spot to enjoy my first drink, I never sit in the kitchen."

Well, I've brought a lovely set of chairs this week in the sale, to go with my huge farmhouse table and now I too, have a kitchen spot!!

We're all nicely chilled, reading and scrolling, still in pjs and under blankets, after a cooked breakfast. Will have party food later but not really into NYE. Need to take the dog for a wander. Back to normal for me on Tuesday and the kids have another week off still.
