Good Morning All! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The boiler and fridge are humming away & the washer's on already but there's no other noise - bliss 😊

We don't really have any plans for today - we did a big clean between us yesterday & the only thing not done was hoover upstairs and the stairs themselves so I'll do that later on, when everyone's up.

My plan for the day is to continue the crochet dachshund (only need to make feet & tail now), and painting peg people. I'll probably read some more of my new book, or solve a couple more Murdle murders while coats of paint dry.

Both girls have homework so I'll suggest they at least look at it, and see what needs to be done, even if they don't start it today.

Tea will likely be something fairly quick and easy, followed by whatever treats are still about and then a nice early shower before chilling in front of the tv. I need to file my nails & might paint them if I can be bothered by then, if not, I might stick some nail wraps instead.

Just got back from the gym and have taken tree and decorations down. It looks so bare now 😔 Chilling for the rest of the day then takeaway and movie night tonight. We don't really celebrate New Year.

Ive been up, fed the crazy cat gang, tried to persuade them to their new shelter I've made up the top of the garden [It's a process], cleaned our their old shelter [my gardening shed and chill out room], moved a table, cleaned a table, and started repotting seedlings.

Which is amazing as yeterday I was so ill I had to go back to bed.

Currently making a roast dinner, and will go back to the shed later to finish off my gardening.

It's the last of the Pannetone for pudding today so that marks the end of our festivities. Such as we have them. Which we don't, it's basically just the Pannetone.

Good Afternoon (already?!) Lucysmam et al!

All quiet here today. We had a lovely long lie in, then DH and DS1 went off to MILs to help her with some heavy lifting. DS2 and DD are eating lunch/sorting through Christmas presents/doing Lego etc. I am currently MNing for an hour or so, then I'm going to get myself some brie & crackers for a light lunch, and pop up to help DD clean and sort out her bedroom ready to go into the New Year fresh. DS1 did his yesterday and DS2s is too terrifying to enter in daylight so I'm trying not to.

This afternoon/evening, we'll be having a board game night and eating M&S pizza. We're not big NYE people, so we'll let the kids stay up and watch the fireworks that the house over the road do every year, and the ones in London, then have another lie in tomorrow. Back to work on Tuesday for DH, school on Wednesday/Thursday for DC so it'll be feeling much less festive for us after today.

Dropped Dd at work at 9.30 came back took the dog for a walk then had coffee and a croissant for breakfast whilst catching up with the soaps
Put a wash on hoovered downstairs
Just picked Dd up from work now getting ready to go to bil’s for afternoon tea
Tonight staying in with Dh will finish off the cheeses and pates and watch tv or a film probably be in bed listening to a podcast before 12
Dd is going to a party at her friends and Dh will pick her up when she’s ready to come home

I was thinking the same thing myself. Would love a kitchen spot but have a galley kitchen so not an option.
My plan this year is to find a reading chair for my bedroom.

@FlorencenotRatchet oh I love a bedroom chair! My kitchen is huge, was brand new last year and we have a 6 foot table ... but I never sit in there! It gets the morning sun too, so I will be making good use of my new found spot 🥰

Gym, bed by 9, wondering what the big deal is about watching a clock I've seen a million times hit midnight.

Good (afternoon) all. We have come to the seas side for new years on a last minute whim. The air b and b is lovely and we have just been for a very bracing walk with the doggies along the beach, had a pint and bought some fish and dressed crab for our diner. No one moaned for once so it's a victory. Only missing dd1 (18) who stayed home to go out with her pals.
DSS's now watching a film on the iPad, Dd2 and her boyfriend who has come with Chatting on the sofa, Dogs asleep. DH and I will sneak out and look at the shops shortly. Back home for dinner then games and drinks for us, back to the beach to watch the fireworks at midnight (if it's not too windy for them).

Hi all, your plans all sound lovely.
Did a big clean today and changed the beds, have a load of washing hung on airers upstairs drying, bedding in the machine on timer to be washed later. Have all had showers/baths, all got clean pjs on, watched Matilda the Musical, currently watching Roald Dahl's The Witches, and have a Chinese pre-ordered for 6pm. Love a lazy family day
