Tuesday for us!

Been jumped on twice but I fear I have got as much as I can in it.

The recycling bin isn't until Monday 8th and that is almost full too.

Buy a wormery and compost all your kitchen waste. Makes such a difference.

Collection Saturday and bin is heaving. Did a tip trip this morning so bin lid closes. Will need to bag up the recycling for another tip trip at the weekend as both bins are full and not collected until next Saturday. Our council won't collect any bags on the floor or if the bin lid isn't closed. Not useful for a family of 5.

3/4 days and it’s 1/4 full. Recycling should have been collected today, that’s full.

Polis · 28/12/2023 20:26

Ours will be emptied earlier on Saturday rather than the usual Monday. They are half full.

Emptied today surprisingly as due tomorrow

I went to the tip on Christmas Eve. So all the packaging etc went then. It was deserted. But paper recycling is tomorrow and general waste next week. We are running a day later than normal. We didn't host Xmas.

Our council are having a waste amnesty next week so going to try and clear some big items out.

Yeah, no thanks

Rubbish and container recycling due on Saturday. We could offer our neighbours space for a couple of bags and a load of bottles. We have Empty Nest Privilege.

boys3 · 28/12/2023 20:37

Monday usual collection days here, so black general waste bin emptied last Saturday and is no more than half full. Glass, tins and plastics due next Tuesday, with Monday being another bank hol. Paper and card is probably around 75% full and not due for collection until Jan 15th. Tbf the binmen here are really good, no complaints. Shame the same can’t be said for potholes.

peakygold · 28/12/2023 20:38

Our very lovely elderly neighbour always invites us to use her bin space because she only half fills both her rubbish and recycling bins. We put the bins out and put them back to return the favour. Bins being emptied tomorrow.

KnittedCardi · 28/12/2023 20:40

Recycling and food bins collected yesterday. Rubbish will be next Wednesday. No more full than usual really. A bit more food waste, but not terrible, and food is collected weekly, so not an issue.

Pebbles16 · 28/12/2023 20:46

Our normal bin is usually put out once a fortnight. It's brimming at the moment (many Christmas guests) and will 'hopefully' be collected on Saturday. The recycling bin is like Jenga.
I am half tempted to text our neighbours, who are away, to ask if we can put our rubbish out in their bins (and bring them back obviously).
Composting bin was full to overflowing before Christmas and we have very cunning foxes so had to resort to landfill and peelings etc in the garden waste (which we pay for)

Squidwardthesnail · 28/12/2023 20:53

Collection next week. Last collection at the start of December so 3 and a half weeks ago. Had to take the Christmas rubbish to the tip yesterday. It's as jumped on as it's getting!

OmG. Our (recyc) binday was put back until today, from Tuesday. I had a few carrier bags full of stuff ready to go in the bin as soon as it had been emptied. DH suddenly realised that he'd got mixed up with days twixtmas and hadn't put the bin out ...
