Why does Father Ted Xmas Special have a content warning??!

Watched it last night and couldn't work out what I was supposed to be getting offended by. (Mrs Doyle falling off the windowsill is still one of the greatest comedy moments btw.)

We wondered the same thing, and assumed after watching it's because of Ed Byrne and the other lad in the Priest phone chat section, pulling particular faces and making nosies that mock disabled people.

I don't understand why we are getting warnings about people smoking all over the tv now, I mean in real life there aren't any are there? Imagine all the signs:
"If you turn left you may see people smoking " with a number of a support group underneath just in case you felt triggered by reading the sign 🤣

Netflix does this all the time, even if it’s something as mild as an animated film with bunnies - warning: foul language, smoking, swearing, crude humour, sexual violence, violence, drug abuse, injury detail…..🙄

I thought this as well. Other than some mild swearing I can’t see what else it could be. I suppose it could be graphic violence against tea-making machines!

If you do content warnings for mild things, no-one ends up taking any notice, and then could find something that should have a warning by any standards and be upset. When they would have avoided it.

Because viewers might be shocked to see so few bare arses in a C4 programme?

Ah, I'm going to watch this tomorrow. There's been shite all on that's held my interest in the past few days. Father Ted will rectify that, I reckon.

I don't understand this conclusion at all. It's a comedy on TV so presumably many viewers are expected to find it funny? Else they wouldn't broadcast it.

I know it's not in the Christmas show, but we say " it's got cocaine in it" all the time at home, there are so many funny lines. Fit for all occasions 😄
