You know Christmas is over when.....

It's 1 minute past midnight on Boxing Day night and the awful On The Beach holiday ad has started playing. The one with the gross vulgar fat family and their repulsive ice cream stealing children. Christmas is over, vacation season/ Easter is upon us!!

Anyone else?

Creme eggs in the shops.

Although did spot some in a local shop pre Christmas.

I hate that advert with a passion. We don't go abroad as I'm scared of flying. This advert makes me feel that I'm not missing much!

Amybelle88 · 27/12/2023 00:42

You go into Morrisons on Boxing Day for some milk and see this... had to do a double take!!!!

Oh God no, that advert is horrendous, I have to turn over when it comes on. As an aside, my local Sainsbury’s put a Valentines Day card display out on Christmas Eve, so in that respect it was over before it even started! It’s such blatant money grabbing, why can’t we just enjoy one thing at a time?

Wow vulgar and fat?
Guess your family is just perfect

Greenshake · 27/12/2023 01:04

That how the family are portrayed in the advert Babla, calm down.

Rattenbury · 27/12/2023 01:06

Hobbycraft are already advertising Easter/Spring stuff on their homepage. FFS.

ShortMotherfuckerWithTheIvoryHair · 27/12/2023 01:12

I'm wearing my last clean Christmas jumper. Once they are all laundered they will go back in the drawer until next year.

Whattheheckcarer · 27/12/2023 01:14

The jeans don't fit.

happinessischocolate · 27/12/2023 01:17

When you go back to work on 2nd January... until then it's still Xmas

FusionChefGeoff · 27/12/2023 01:18

There's only us in the house - been "on" since midday Xmas eve and I am DONE

Unicorns41 · 27/12/2023 02:11

@Amybelle88 they had this as my local co-op on Christmas Eve 😆. Fast turn around for Easter goodies this year!!

coxesorangepippin · 27/12/2023 02:13

You can't stand the fake Christmas fire on Roku anymore

PepperJacksBestHo · 27/12/2023 07:09

My hand doesn't fit in the Pringles tube any more

Flidina · 27/12/2023 07:44

When your itching to take the tree and decorations down, which I will probably do today😂, and all the party food, cakes, chocolates, have been used up/sent home with family members so I can't pick at them!

user1469095927 · 27/12/2023 07:45

I went to our local Tesco on Christmas Eve and the "Christmas" isle when you walked in the door (which had been there for weeks) had been replaced by a Happy Hogmanay isle. Christmas was over before it had even started 😂

😂😂 my dad said basically the same thing about that family last night (at like 10pm so i don’t think you’re my dad posting haha). He’s a bloody snob but indeed the ad is not a very Christmassy sight 😄

Why are you surprised when Christmas stuff is in the shops in August? (It was this year, I saw some).

Another thread was talking about how Christmas is getting longer with elf on the shelf stuff, I'm really glad my kids are older, how do you explain to a young child that sees Christmas stuff in September that they need to wait 3 months. Ridiculous!

Candycurrantbun · 27/12/2023 08:38

When people on MN stop moaning about their MiLs at Christmas and get back to moaning about their MiLs in general.

When all the shit present threads stop..

When people on MN stop moaning about Elf on the shelf/Christmas in the shops is too early/Christmas Eve boxes/kids get too many presents and on and on

I give it another week on here.

To be fair, if you are a crafter who wants to make things for the coming season, you do it early. Crafters are thinking about making Christmas decorations/cards in July.

So glad Christmas is done though, spring is a much better time of hte year.

DappledThings · 27/12/2023 08:48

When it's the 6th of January

Funkyslippers · 27/12/2023 08:48

There are plenty of people that have to have something big to look forward to like a holiday or Christmas at all times of the year so they will book a holiday on boxing day

SideshowAuntSallyx · 27/12/2023 08:53

Jet2 were advertising on Christmas eve, they didn't even wait until Christmas Day
