Help - how do I type in a bitly link

Please can anyone tell me how I need to type a bitly link in on the web browser on my phone!

I've been given a gift with a note attached and it says, read full story here: bitly/Xxxxxx (obviously not the correct link)

I've typed the link in (exact, checked for capital & lower case letters etc.) and got nothing, tried with in front of it, again nothing

Tried googling and how to but I just get links on how to shorten a link originally.

Can anyone help, I don't really want to message and thank them for the gift until I've read whatever it is.

Isn't it bit dot ly? Just checking the obvious.

You should be able to click it, they don't always work on phones though so try the computer.

It's a hand written note, starting to think she's maybe wrote it out incorrectly 🙈
