Its not ungrateful to want help from DPs/family on Christmas Day, nor expect some thoughtful recognition of what people do all year, or even to feel loved by those who profess to love you.

Oops I’ve started one but hopefully it’s not interpreted as a Christmas whinge.

Not here, dd is amazed to have actually got a house for her Barbies, she's been playing with it for an hour already! She keeps saying thank you to Santa. It gives me that warm feeling to see her so happy.

This. I roll my eyes when it’s a ‘wrong diamond earrings’ type of thread but when there’s no gift at all or a spatula then they have every right to complain usually after busting their arse to put Christmas on to start with

Most of the ungrateful threads are women who have killed themselves for 6 weeks to host Christmas (usually the in-laws) run around like blue arsed flies and got some primark socks while the DH is opening a single malt, a football shirt and a coat.
It’s not ungrateful and I hate the attitude that as an adult you simply can’t expect a gift with any thought put into it

Seriously though, some people are going to whinge their diamond shoes are too tight, but others will be venting to us in a safe space about genuine difficulties they are having with absent or thoughtless or abusive family members, and MN should be here to support them.

I saw someone post an Alexa last night on Facebook for sale as an 'unwanted Christmas gift'.

It was still Christmas Eve at that point! At least give it one day 😆
